Anakin on Tantive IV and other 'lost' scenes

I have seen several publicity stills of Anakin on the Tantive IV in a very similar pose as when he enters it in ANH 20 years later.

It was supposed to be a foreshadowing to his famous entrance in ANH but it obviously did not make the final cut of the film (or never filmed at all)

There was also an entire subplot concerning the creation of the rebel alliance which was cut for time which I feel was a glaring ommission when one considers the vital role it plays in the OT and gives an added sense of hope in the otherwise dark film.

Anyone else know of any details of these lost scenes or others I'm not aware of?

I made a big list of things cut from the film (going from the script) in a thread a bit on the way down, check that out. If you want I might go about posting the exact extracts from the script.

There's no cut scene with Anakin on the Tantive IV- that must've been just an idea for a publicity shot (a very good one).
