WTF mate?

Post by Straha »

I'm at Barnes and Noble when I find this book:
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/03454 ... ZZZZZ_.jpg

Now, if you've clicked on the link and you don't see something wrong, you deserve to have every hair on your head ripped out of your body one at a time with tweezers while Darkstar rants and raves over your shoulder.

Continuing on, however, I browsed through said book, found to my disapointment nothing what-so-ever from the prequels, but what I did find was disturbing enough... On almost every-page was something from the Ewoks televised series (Big pictures too sometimes... ::sigh::), some of it enough to make you want to wretch. The worst, and what caused me to put the book back, was when I flipped through D and found a picture of the Star Destroyer Bridge Globes labelled as "Deflector Shield Generator".

I just sincerely hope Lucasfilm has fired its fact-checker..

Jez-us, you call yourself a SW fan and you haven't heard of this book? Where the hell have you been for the last two decades?

In a cave with the smaller red paper-back encyclopedia with the Tie Advanced on the cover is where...

Anyhow, wasn't that book written back when LucasFilm/arts/books/whateverthehell was really bad with respect to accuracy to the movies?

I know some people think they're bad now, but wasn't there a time when they were worse?

Then you know now to update to this newer, albeit, slightly inaccurate version.

I really hope they do one to cover the PT now.

There is a copy of the Encylopedia that includes TPM. I know. I wasted money on it.

I'm with you. I had that one for a while, but the picture of a "Noghri" really pissed me off, so I stopped using it. It's now in my garage somewhere near my WEG Sourcebook and that book on Lucasfilm 'from Star Wars to Indiana Jones'. I just never bothered to modernize my nerddom.

Heck, my TNG Companion ends at season 5.

Man I have both of those books, which are hideously out of date and not really that usefull these days, when things like the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Encyclopedia are free and dozens of times more extensive.
