LOTR What if's
I was watchin the super duper sell your first born to get 8million disc version of LOTR and a few things popped in my noggin. I wondered what would have happened if Boromir didn't die when the orcs rushed the Fellowship. He still trys to take the ring but he doesnt get turned into a pin cushin. Or what would have happened had Radagast the Brown played a more active role in the events. Or if Gandalf survived the Balrog.

I'd expect he'd make another grab for the ring and end up being killed by another member of the fellowship.

I figure he'd go along with the Three Hunters and just take command whenever they met people from Gondor.

Re: LOTR What if's
Borormir's lust for the ring would have endured. He also would have openly challenged Aragorn's right to the throne of Gondor perhaps plunging the kingdom into civil war.spongyblue wrote:I was watchin the super duper sell your first born to get 8million disc version of LOTR and a few things popped in my noggin. Radagast only had a bit part in the novel when he sent Gandalf unknowingly into Saruman's trap. Radagast, like the other wizards were side tracked from their original quests. I suspect that if Radagast were to get involved he would have tried help inspire the free peoples of middle earth to stand up against Sauron.
Gandalf never really ceased to exist after his fight with the Balrog but if you mean that Gandalf the grey never died then he would have continued with his quest.

I've always wondered what vision Boromir saw in his stay at Lothlorien? Did he see a vision of himself wearing the ring? What would happen if he did capture the ring from Frodo? He would more than likely kill his father, brother and Aragorn and proclaim himself as the next king. Then he would make war against Mordor. Now could he overthrow Sauron, and become the third dark lord?

But that's just it, Sauron was paranoid that someone would try to take his ring an usurp him. He never suspected that they were going to destroy it, he thought that another power would threaten his rule.Darth Pounder wrote:No the Ring would betray Boromir eventually, the ring has almost sentience when it came to getting back to Suron.
