Err, no. A bolt from the quadlaser will be 1-2 kt. A photon is conservatively several hundred kt, likely single digit mt. Vast difference there.

As with all of these type of comparisons, it depends on what type of missiles the Falcon is packing.

You are thinking too simplistically. The total shield area can deflect that much energy. However, the ability to reradiate energy is proportional to surface area, and as the Alderaan scene shows, it takes time to spread energy over a shield. Thus a high power, high intensity shot can do damage or penetrate a shield despite only being of low or moderate energy. That is how TIEs and other fighters are a threat to small ships.

Oh for fuck's sake. "Duh, let's say the Defiant encounters the Falcon, but the Falcon has no shields, the hyperdrive doesn't work, the quad laser energy is depleted, and the crew is dead. Who wins?"

From the fact that we don't see her fire missile before that we don't know wether or not she had them in ESB. That ship's equipment is, after all, in a constant state of flux.

Is the Defiant cloak capable is irrelevant as this is set in Hoth asteroid field (and IIRC the Defiant had no shields when cloaked).

I was under the impression that when it came down to this size of craft versus UFP starships it could go either way depending on missile load.
