Time and time again, Vong Biotech has been shown to be incredibly lacking. Their frigates can be destroyed in less than two minutes by a single squadron of X-Wings with 6 torpedos. And Dovin Bassals suck.

I must have missed that, because mostly I recall the Republicans whining about how the little mini-blackholes sucked up their shots, the Vong ripping through Republic fleets, and your average Vong warrior being lightsaber-resistant and killing Jedi.

As for the force thing, they had to have an opponent for the Jedi, and without have dark jedi, Sith, or droids, thats what they had to do. I had no problem with it.

But instead of coming up with a suitable enemy who is able to outwit or outmanuever the Jedi, they just make the Vong immune to the force and their armor lightsaber resistant through the magic of handwankium.

Here is a quick synopsis; Jedi get castrated for no particular reason, the Republic senate act like two year olds, worlds are devestated for no particular reason by Uber bio-tech - destroying the enemies bio-tech (the same bio-tech that is used as weapons and factories to produce more weapons) is Teh EvIll!!!!shift+1!!, Luke acts like a baby, Jaina is the Galactic slut, Jacen is a whinny no good fuck for most of the series, the bio-tech kicks ass - oh no wait a moment, no it doesn't! - oh wait a little more, yes it does! (repeat over and over again). Beautiful Coruscant is destroyed and turned into a fucking jungle, I don't know what the fuck was happening with the Chiss - lets just not go there - and the Remanent, oh the Jedi suddenly become Uber again (think DE only more), the Jedi get castrated again, etc, etc.

Most horrid thing? At the end we don't have a Republic or an Empire, we have the GFFA ... the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances ... to the NJO.

My advice, go pick up some prequel books, there are some real gems in them - and most of them are stand alone so you don't need to wade through 20 odd books for 4 or 5 gems.

How about, you know, not. The Jedi in the Prequels were just barely managing to get by, and they numbered in the thousands. In the NJO there was barely a hundred of them, so why make them total pussies? Power up the Vong by all means, but don't castrate the Jedi because you're too fucking lazy.

I think it's a sign that the Republic has finally lost it, that the New Republic was doomed before it even started and the Rebellion, though it had the best intentions, ultimately failed. Hence why we have the GFFA come in and replace the corrupt NR.

Only for the first few books or so. Then they figured out how to counter these strange new weapons. By the latter half of the series, Jedi are cutting through the average Vong grunt like so much butter, leaving only the elite Vong able to hold their own.

As for the force thing, they had to have an opponent for the Jedi, and without have dark jedi, Sith, or droids, thats what they had to do. I had no problem with it.

How many of the books did you read, honestly? By the third or fourth, the dovin bassals were made extremely ineffective through a combonation of strike patterns from both fighters and capital ships, the only reason the Vong tore through the fleet is because of its overwhelming size (and it still took them three years to get to coruscant), and even the most inept Jedi is able to kill at least half a dozen Vong warriors before going down, even if their by themselves and surrounded.

Clearly you don't. I'm talking about how she was playing with Kyp, Fell and Z dude in Dark Journey and (I think) Star by Star not the Vong. And if my memory serves she had every intention of hurting their feelings.
