Since when does he actually like anything? Isn't his hating everything supposed to be his gimmick?

Methinks Maddox is just a self-absorbed fuck that's only occasionally funny with an overblown personality cult.

VG Cats and the editing room both released their critques of the film today.

Guess it was national Bash ROTS day or somethin'.

EDIT: These are both pretty damn funny though. Just a odd coincidence that all three were released today...

Heheheh, I think its funny. If I wasn't a fan I'd probably think the same things.

EDIT: And he did have a couple good things to say about the violence, bwahaha!

"The dark side clouds everything"
"Our ability to use the force is diminished"
"The shroud of the dark side has fallen"

OK, not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES was it stated in AoTC that the Dark Side has adversely influenced the ability of the Jedi to use the force. THREE times. If it was one time, that would be bad enough, but the idiots who keep peddling this stupid bullshit about how the Jedi are supposed to be able to sense these things have no excuse with this fact being spelled out for them THREE FUCKING TIMES. But let's not actual lines from the movies designed to explain things in a way that the average moviegoer can understand get in the way of SW-bashing!

It really is quite incredible how much you can twist, misrepresent, ignore, not understand, or "Hey, I an be an irrational bastard like that guy from American idol! People will love me!" when your determined to dislike a movie.

One wonders if these "reviewers" have actually seen the movie, or have just read the ramblings of other asshats and seen a few screenshots and said, "Dude, this movie Suxxors. Lets review it."

The VGCats comic was funny. Maddox's review wasn't.

He admits to loving himself in his FAQ, apparently.

A bit off topic: is it neccesary to kill the URL (as in, stick a plus sign in there) to a site like Maddox's? I thought that that was reserved for other message boards.

VGcats definately did a better job of that at least.
Their review was typical drival (although well illustrated) but the DV bit was fairly funny (the Higher Ground bit was amusing too.)

Definitely not Maddox's best, but the article is still okay. He does have words of praise for the violence, unlike say "The Matrix" sequels or "Daredevil" which he gives no compliments.

List of things Maddox likes:
Dawn of the Dead
Ikaruga
His Balls
Contra 3
Army of Darkness
I might have missed some.
VG Cats and The Editing Room both released their critques of the film today.
Both are funnier than Maddox by a long shot, with the Editing Room being the funniest by far. The best part is:
IAN MCDIARMID appears in a HOLOGRAPH to one of the CLONE
TROOPERS.

IAN MCDIARMID
Execute order 66.

CLONE TROOPER
Kill all shrieking CGI creatures.
(to his troop)
Alright men, shoot down the giant
Iguana.

IAN MCDIARMID
Oh, and order 67.

CLONE TROOPER
Jedi, too. Got it.

I understand it's just an anti-invasion thing.

Oh, well. At least he won't be mocking the board this way.

Well, he was right on a few minor things, like dialogue. But most of it was explained in the previous movies. Maddox is getting a bit lazy it seems. Would also explain the recent massive decrease in humour of his articles.

I think we can all agree that RotS would have been much better if Anakins fall had been because of Grievous' dastardly plot involving tying Padmé to some train tracks.

What's funny is that my friends and I all said that that was our favorite part of the movie, even laughing about how awesome it was, when my shocked wife asked "What is so funny about little kids dying?"

To be honest, I haven't bothered reading Maddox in ages and I don't plan to start. When you realize that most of his responses to criticism involve bragging about his website ranking or attacking peoples' spelling, it begins to occur to you that this man is not exactly the great intellect that he thinks he is.

But his critiques of the plot can't be any dumber than the usual fare from more "respected" critics. The most common criticism of ROTS is "I didn't buy Anakin's change to the Dark Side at all". Can you imagine if some fucktard said "I didn't buy Frodo's evil turn at all; you take some guy to a mountain and deprive him of food and water for a while, and suddenly he's evil?" Of course, LOTR fans would immediately slag him for being too stupid to figure out that it was the influence of the Ring. As I said elsewhere, maybe George Lucas should have used slow-mo and heart-beat sounds so that the idiots would be able to figure it out.

That's not a very apt analogy. Frodo underwent an observable, gradual change because of the Ring. Anakin didn't; remember what he did right before he turned? He betrayed Palpatine over to the Jedi council, rejecting the Sith. Even during the fight, he didn't wholly give in: he didn't kill Mace, but just prevented him from killing Palpatine. The best rationalization, of course, is that Anakin's corruption was also gradual, but just very behind-the-scenes. After all, Palpatine knew him for a period of 12 years, so he had every opportunity to subtly nudge him towards the Dark Side. It's still far too sudden a change to completely accept this conclusion, though. If he's being secretly mind-fucked by the Dark Lord of the Sith for years, then why does he reject him, not hours before he falls to the Dark Side? I understand that's how the Dark Side works in SOD, but non SOD, it's still shoddy writing.

Just say that it's all entertainment, and the word "younglings" is just plain silly.

Besides, it's just funny, I guess, no real reasons there.
