Favorite "Bad Guy" from Star Wars

Post by Castor Troy »

Be it from the books, movies, whatever.

What's your favorite "Bad Guy" from Star Wars?

Be it the Sith, Empire, Yuuzhan Vong, etc..

My favorite are the Yevethans. Xenophobic and capable of improving technology. Kind of like the Moties of the Star Wars universe, they must be contained or else it's over.

If you're talking about a singular bad guy, General Grievous would be my pick. The way he moves and talks is really neat, and his look is dang sexy.

For a group, I'm going with the Seperatists. They're the only ones who battledroids to any appreciable degree (although I understand why few would want to use them post-Clone Wars), and I adore the Lucrehulk and Munificent class ships. Plus, they have Grievous.

My favorite bad guy is Han Solo, part of the Rebel conspiracy to overthrow a legally established government.

:P

Oh. Palpatine, definitely. Ian McDiarmid's screen presence is amazing, and the depth and intricacy of his manipulations is just awestriking. Also notable is the fact he was reckless enough to use himself as bait in a trap... twice.

My favorite is Dr. Evazan. His lines are so much fun to quote, especially at a party when everyone's drunk.

I'm going to have to go with Darth Bane from the EU, though Thrawn was definetly up there.

From the movies, it'd have to be Maul. I liked Maul, Maul was cool.

Palpatine is definitely the most dastardly* villain ever, and not just in Star Wars. The scope and magnitude of his manipulations are astounding, playing the entire galaxy like a puppet in order to achieve his goals.. including the destruction of the entire Jedi Order and galactic domination, no less.

I second that. Thrawn should have been in charge of the DS instead of Tarkin. Jerac comes in a close second though. 8)

Tarkin typified the Imperial officer. Aristocratic, arrogant, megalomaniacal. 8)

And wasn't the DS Tarkin's baby? Wasnt it part of his outer rim 'rule by fear' campaign?

Vader. Hands down. IMHO the most 3-dimensional villain in Star Wars (and, arguably, movies in general).

Vader is not only the best villain in Star Wars, but maybe the best in movies, period. The only real competition IMO is Hannibal Lecter.

For single villian: Vader.

For evil group: the ancient Sith Empire.

A dozen names flash before my eyes, but only one truly stand out, more so after ROTS's final scenes: Darth Vader.

Galactic Empire.

Love their ships (the dagger ones, not the crap ones from the Imperial Sourcebook), love their uniforms, and love stormtroopers. They got better style than the groups I'm familiar with.
