How about the Zerg? We never found out what exactly happened to them... and along the way they, erm, infected the remaining Yuuzhan Vong forces left in the Milky Way.
Think Zerglings with amphistaffs and blaster-resistant armor, plus shootable explosive spines.
Or the Overmind having psionic abilities powerful enough to project itself hundreds of light-years away.
Or *shudder* Worldlisks.

Sir Nitram's old power, which somewhat controlled the Beast. They're currently off in other galaxies, turning matter into more ships.InnocentBystander wrote:Well the beast are pre-fall tech. I think one of the QE has a few beast warheads, and two of them were lost.
Maybe you could explain who the Lost are, Beowulf?
Or propose some other form of unspeakable evil?

Did this all happen in the last STGOD set in this universe if so could you could give me a fast run down of what happened that time round.

A battered flotilla drifted through hyperspace, licking their wounds as they
sought a new place to rebuild. Their ships were made out of billions of metal
and mineral polyps, and ranged from the size of the first Death Star to that
of a mere X-wing.
They were all that remained of the once mighty Milky Way invasion fleet of the
Yuuzhan Vong. Five worldships (although not insignificant in size, the
smallest being 50 kilometers across), several dozen battleship analogues,
several dozen more cruiser analogues of assorted size, hundreds of support
craft, and thousands of coralskippers, comprised the force.
The fleet finally arrived at its destination, on the outskirts of the galaxy
in an area that had once belonged to the Asheros-Yuntai Combine. There, they
assumed formation, but no space defenses were to be seen. Perhaps this system
was indeed ripe for the picking. Coralskippers now detached and streaked
toward the planet in order to scout it out for possible enemies.
The fleet did not go unnoticed, however. On the planet's surface, several were
watching its approach. And as the coralskippers approached the atmosphere, a
powerful telepathic voice touched the yammosk buried deep inside of the
largest worldship. It was a haunting voice, sounding as though it was composed
of millions of beings; but it was not the mechanical voice of the Borg.
Aboard the command worldship, Executor Taal Yen thought about the message that
the yammosk had just informed him of. In a galaxy packed to the Rim with
machines, here was a civilization (or perhaps it could be better translated as
collective) which frowned on technology, if not as much as most Yuuzhan Vong
did. He was not once to waste opportunities, especially with his fleet in such
desperate need of assistance.
He allowed the yammosk to read his thoughts, and bared his lipless mouth in a
feral grin. Perhaps these 'Zerg' would be of use as allies... and certainly
the shaper caste would be interested in their methods of biological
engineering.

[OOC - I just wanted to tidy up the Yuuzhan Vong. Halite got most of the
second wave; these guys are the only survivors of it. The first wave was
already decimated by the UTR, DPRC, and virtually everyone else; if Deimos
wants to chase Yuuzhan Vong, then he's chasing scraps from the first wave.
There is no third or fourth wave. Anyway, Spyder, this group's all yours. I
assume the Zerg will be intrigued by the concept of dovin basals and the
ability to move through hyperspace.]

The swarm wasted no time in responding. A wormhole opened and the orange
toxic vapors of the swarm cloud poured fourth, engulfing the flotilla.
However, the flotilla remained unharmed.
Suddenly Yen's train of thought leapt into another relm of consciousness,
as if he were in a dream. All he could see were Zerg, from the tiniest
Broodling to the dreaded Shadowlisk. Trillions upon trillions of creatures
spanning the endless void. Eventually, the image came to that of a
hatching chrysalis. From that chrysalis Yen saw himself emerge. Razor
sharp winglike spines spanned from his back like darkened bone wings. Dark
green vains coursed through the torn Yuuzhan Vong flesh. Black blood oozed
from the back of his exposed teeth. His body surged with energy, showing a
power more insidious then many have ever known.
The next image showed an incredible visage. Innumerable Yuuzhan Vong
ships, altered by the swarm some of them beyond recognition. Alongside
them were the myriad Zerg broods, all enhanced by what the Yuuzhan Vong
had to offer.
The image changed again, this time Yen saw himself standing over the
entire galaxy. He, along with Shara and the Overmind, was perfect.
The message was simple. Join with the swarm and together we will be
perfect. The enemies of the Swarm and the Yuuzhan Vong will meet with
firey damnation!
Suddenly Yen snapped back into the real world. His personal guard had
their weapons at the ready, pointed at the female intruder and her escort,
a small gathering of hydralisks and zerglings that had overrun the ship
while he was unconscious.
"Are you ready?" She asked, extending her hand to Yen. Her feminine voice
distorted by the Zerg blood flowing through her vains.

In the space of a heartbeat, Yen focused his plaerin bol on the leader of the
intruders, but she did not seem intent on harming them.
For some moments, he considered the offer. Much like the now-deceased Prefect
Nom Anor, he was a practical being, and what was being offered was an
opportunity to perhaps turn the tide against the infidels. His force was
already battered, and to refuse right now meant a certain death, however
glorious it might be. As one of the intendant caste, Yen did not care much for
the concept of glory; that was something for the warrior caste.
Finally, he lowered his amphistaff. "Dwi," he affirmed in his native tongue.
When the alien female nodded, he threw his head back, and shouted the ancient
cry: "Do-ro'ik vong pratte!" (And woe to our enemies!)

Shara smiled. The Overmind will be most pleased. A Nydus wormhole opened
and the flotilla passed through, destination unknown. There, they would be
able to merge unmolested.
The last thing Yen saw was the inside of a Zerg evolution chamber. He
slowly faded into unconsciousness as he was incased within the protective
chrysalis.

Suddenly, a massive psionic call coming from all directions waved through
the minds of the SKS sector militia. They could all hear
someone...something laughing. The twisted voice was heard more clearly by
those with keener telepathic senses. The voice was that of Taal Yen of the
Yuzhaan Vong.
This could get complicated.

Why didn't I create my space-faring Victorians when I had the chance? Curse my originality.
And bringing in the Evil™ this early may be bad. at least let us get first contacts sorted and meeting the wider galactic population out the way. Unless it's The Evil™, in which case I'll just stock up on milk

According to Starbound, it's a problem solvable with enough combat drugs to turn you into the Incredible Hulk.

I was just looking at the map and I realised that the eastern spiral arm is almost full up so should I move my empire to the western side of the galaxy maybe near the Roma Republic.

Also what dose the red highlighted areas mean.

The "red" highlighted areas are actually supposed to be brown. They mark the boundaries of The Great Waste, which is basically war-damaged areas of space -- where resources are a bit thinner than usual, there are more navigational hazards, and plenty of old, dangerous and sometimes still armed and pissed-off warships. Basically, it's a big warning saying "THAR BE DRAGONS".Glimmervoid wrote:I was just looking at the map and I realised that the eastern spiral arm is almost full up so should I move my empire to the western side of the galaxy maybe near the Roma Republic.

I think you're fine where you are, by the way.
With regards to re-introducing a great evil, I'll agree with Thirdfain that it's a bit cliched already and would prefer to not go down that road if I don't have to.
Thirdfain, I came up with another idea, I'll PM you and Pablo and see how it goes.

I've had that on call since the ASVS STGOD. It's ascended to a highly evolutionary stage where it doesn't just mindlessly consume. Which is good for.. The universe.
