I think this part is alot more serious. Who the hell has time to watch it 4 times in 2 weeks?

Screw it, gonna watch it again this week.

I hate you :P I'll only get it 5 times by the end of school when my workload drops off.

Anyway if I (as a stormie) were facing a Jedi, fall back to the nearest E-web and set up a giant hail of fire.

Worked with Droidekas in EP1.

See, this is why you follow my method of learning and write Star Wars fan fics instead of studying. I did fine in my tests today, despite having spent the entire night working on a fan fic and going on SDnet, rather than sleeping or studying. I was relying on a half-hour nap and a 40-minute cram session, and it worked out quite well.... I think.

Then my body rebelled against the way I've been treating it and I'm now shaking and have stuffed up sinuses.

I'd still shoot the R2 unit. I'd put the Empire before my life, and the R2 unit is crucial to the Jedi's plans, whatever they are.

That's how I kill them on Battlefront.

You'll remember though, that Boba Fett in AOTC shot starship cannons at Obi-wan's feet and only blew him through the air. The Jedi are pretty good at surviving explosives.

My trick- fire a missle at the feet when there is an abyss behind them. I love blowing Dooku off the edge of Kamino.

There's a killable Jedi mod out now (from pcgamemods.com). Previously this was the only way to kill them (blasting them off a bottomless pit) or by running them over with certain vehicles (speeder bikes, wheel droids, etc) or landing on them with aircraft (very tricky!).

Gah, so they're unkillable in the unmodified game?

I was mucking about on LAN with some buddies, and we started to suspect that after about the sixteenth megaton of firepower we'd thrown at Dooku from all directions around him..

I killed Dooku once through Sheer fire power. Two full LAATs and two AT-TEs just constanty hitting him. It took the better part of 5 minutes though...

And its possibly he might have been hit by debris or something, but, damnit, that was OUR KILL!

Way to go :)

I guess they're killable then.. they just have a lot of hit points.

Pht, I unloaded around ten rounds into Vader as a Rebel Vanguard trooper, didnt work for me, he just deflects them with the force. Still, it is cool to see him mow through a squad of Rebel troops to get at you. :)

Vehicular homicide owns. Get a speeder or a tank and just keep running the bastards over.

I never include the Jedi heroes in my LAN games, though. Goddamn twinky bastards.

As for killing a Jedi as a Stormtrooper, one of the Vos comics included that recipe- numbers and range.

If I was a stormtrooper (I wouldn't be though, I wouldn't get through Carida) and I was facing a Jedi, and I knew what he was, I'd probably have a panic attack (you wouldn't know it though, I'm a Stormtrooper) stop thinking about effective ways to killl said Jedi and just start firing. Then I'd die. It's called Zombie Attack Syndrome.

But numbers does seem to be the deciding factor. Look at Vader's Quest. Vader is faced by a huge crowd willing to fight to defend Luke, and he turns his saber off. Mind you, a cocky rebel had just blown up his Interdictor, so that might have influenced his decision.

While people said E-Web fire would most likely knock the lightsaber out of a jedi's hand lets not forget Luke deflected At-At fire in Dark Empire

Dear god.

I forgot about that........

There's so much Jedi/Sith wank in those comics, I try to forget it all.

I don't know how he kept himself steady blocking that.

He was pretty strong in the force by that time, mabye he used it to steady himself?

He glows in the panel right before the one where he blocks the fire, though that may not really mean anything.

Well, what I'm about to say probably doesn't deserve its own thread so I'm just gonna mention it here... On the OS, in "sith snapshots" section, it shows the feet of the troops that killed Ki-Adi. Below that is the caption, "The Galactic Marines following Ki-Adi-Mundi on Mygeeto suddenly stop... and take aim". What the hell are the "Galactic Marines"???

I dunno. Those Slave 1 blaster cannon blew chunks out of the landing platform right next to Obi-Wan, and he was just flung in the air.

I suppose it depends on the material the Jedi is standing on. The Kamino platform was hardly duracrete or stone. The materials might fragment differently.

Must have been a glitch, are you sure? In the PC version at least I have literally sat there for 5 minutes pounding away with heavy vehicle fire, and they just keep getting back up.

The other condition that will kill a Jedi is if their reinforcements (the side the Jedi is on) drop to like 15 (or 20) I think. I know it's when it gets really low. They just keel over and die, no matter what they were doing.

Except for those tricks, they are effectively immortal. The "healing" is just an animation, their health never actually drops, and their blocking is also just an animation (shoot them in the back and even if they don't block the shots reflect off as if it were blocked).

In addition to the "killable Jedi" mod there is also a mod that gives each Jedi a unique Force power (have yet to try that one) like Vader gets choke. There's also a playable Jedi mod that's been out a long time (kind of boring though since you just have one attack animation and no force powers). Not sure if there's a mod to let you play as Jedi AND have a force power AND be killable, but maybe by now there is!

SWBF lacks some variety out of box (even with the latest patch), but there's a couple of mods out there that can make it more fun. Battlefront II looks like it will provide some of the meat that was missing from the first game (heh).

I have no idea why Jedi and Sith aren't player-controlled in that game.

Perhaps their logic was that being a lightsaber-wielding Force user would be so damn cool, that it'd be nearly impossible to figure out a system to select a deserving player to get the role in a large game, then not letting anyone play that character is even more fucked IMO.

I mean, I can think of a shitload of systems.. player with the highest score, or players take turns (either time limited or till you die), etc etc.

At the very least they could've given the Force user NPC kickass killer AI that actually makes players shit their pants when they accidentally get too close.

Just as a semi-interesting footnote, in the Jedi Knight game you could stand openly and take out a blaster cannon at the time without risk with your lightsaber, because they always shot precisely.

Stormtroopers, on the other hand, sometimes make near-misses that you can't deflect and hence take some damage from.
Star Trek vs. Star Wars, Extralife style.
