In my experience, most "gangstas" are very religious even thought they do all that.

Rappers are highly religious too, or at least they sure as hell seem that way when they win music awards.

They're poorly-educated, and grew up impoverished. Statistically, of course they would all be religious. :P

I thought they were apathetic. I just can't picture a rapper, who fucks fifty women a day, on TV, to be a fundie Christian.

It's not really a matter of peer pressure or of lack of intelligence, but usually by them wanting to find something. You see, it's usually that something happens to them that makes them want to convert to Christianity.

In my experience, religous people are either 1) indoctrinated from birth or 2) stupid. For the uber-religious, combine both. Who grows up without their mind broken by religious instruction and suddenly joins the church? Honestly.

Similar experience here. I knew a guy (wasn't really a friend per se, more a guy I knew through other friends) in high school that used to claim to be an atheist. I knew pretty much all the agnostics and atheists in my high school simply because I was one of the most outspoken atheist and willing told everyone that I was. This guy used to say how he was an atheist every time I saw him. Then, one day, he showed up with some girl he met and all of a sudden, he was a big Christian. I knew she was pretty much a fundie, and apparantly for him a piece of ass (whether he was actually fucking her or not, I don't know, but I doubt it) was enough to make him "see the light."

He starts the typical religious BS about how God must exist and such, and I just laughed at him. He said something to me about being the big atheist with a big mouth and I responded "Well, at least when I fuck a girl, I don't end up changing what I believe because I got a piece of ass." I swear, the two of them turned so red I thought they were going to pass out right there.

That's the closest I can come to where I actually knew a professed atheist to turn to Christianity Alyeska. Didn't know him well enough to know if he was a big Christian before the high school stuff happened. But like a few others have said, I knew plenty of former Christians that had fallen away and ended up going back.

Speaking from personal expierence, Super-Christian Fundie chicks can be super freaky! Along time ago I dated both A Baptist and a Jehovah's Witness. After we dated, the Jehovahs Witness girl went on to earn the nickname 'The Cum Dumpster'.

I wasn't aware that fundies held such a large population of pieces of ass.

Such a supposed Atheist to Christian conversion can be found at the site featuring the G. Zeinelde Jordan v. Temy R. Beal debate.

Raises hand. Guilty :) She was hot.

Quite a few people seriously convert to be part of a community. You get to meet with people regularly, do things with them and have a few common rituals to bind you together. Nothing in the church I belonged to was as wierd as the SF club which probably explains why I tolerated the nuttiness for so long.
