My boyfriend and I are moving. What City Should We Choose?

Post by Einhander Sn0m4n »

My boyfriend's hospital is shutting down. What a lovely Coincidence! We were JUST starting our preparations to move (fattening up bank accounts to ridiculous proportions) when we received the news. Options are in the Poll.

The only city out of those choices that I've stayed in is Pittsburgh, PA and I would strongly NOT suggest it. It's not a very pretty city and it has a rather unpleasant stench to it. Out of those choices, I'd pick North Carolina. But that's me, not you.

I reccomend Montgomery, Alabama.

My second reccomendation would be somewhere in Florida, becuase of the weather.
[EDIT: I take that back. Florida is where old people go to die]

I see as you people have no idea what Floridia is acutal like, Lemme fill you in I spent the ages of 2-8 There and visted often when I was 16-17(And when to the School there too a year later)

Anyway Florida is... Hot... Muggly... and filled with the slowly dieing and the slowly driving, Prices are jacked thanks to the Touresits, the avarage person is either A. Diseased. B. Rude. C.An idiot who move there and is now jadged

Unless you past 70 moving to Floridia is like a Muslim moving into a Mormon community

Its just not pretty.....

New Orleans may be an interesting city to visit, but I would definately not want to live there.

If you want to stay in Louisiana, I'd pick Baton Rouge over Shreveport/Bossier. But whatever you do, don't go to Monroe.

And as to where you should move I STRONGLY suggest Rocky Mount North Carolina for the following four reasons

1. ITS got nice weather that does not inculding billion Doller Hurricans, Never cold during the Winter(Or if cold not for long) Never hot during the Summer(And if it is, not for long, week tops), North Cariolina stays very much in the 50-80 Reginon, instead of the 70-120 Region like Floridia

2. Nice place, Lots to see lots to due, The rednecks are Present but not very much so and all can be dismissed by talking about Either "Duke" or "UNC", these of course being the prime two collages in the area who have a rivalry waaaaaaaaaaay back(Of course no rivalrys are realy recent) anyway simply learn thing or two about Basketball and Football and your good to go

It was said when I lived there that in North Cariloina a Black Man could walk through a KKK Rally as long as he had his UNC Hat on and could chat about the game
Literly thats how deep in runs in the local Rednecks(Just remeber DONT guess the wrong team they support, normaly its easy, UNC/Duke clothing is dirt cheap(one of the prime motivatiors, a Duke T-Shirt was 4.99 and a regular was 9.99 so I wore alot of Duke/UNC marked clothes in the seven years I spent there)

3. Cheap, Things are Cheap in NC thanks to the thriving Business, I remeber Living in Hillsborough and being with fourty mintues of two Malls, Thirty of Half a Dozen Strip Mall Shopping Centers and twenty from eight mom and pop places for praticly anything I can think of.

North Carolina is built on the Island of Civilisation Principle, Densly Focused Business(Normaly with a Large Two or Three sometimes four story Mall as the Command posts surronded by Fortifed Positions of Business, Amoung a sea of Houses then Forest, with the Highway connecting all of it togther, I-40 and I 82(I think its 82... been awhile since I was in NC, three years now)
But if you need anything its aviable in NC

And fourth

4.Your a stone's throw away from Kelly :P I know how much that matters to you Monkeys

Of the choices above, if you DO move out of state, San Antonio iis nice. Iw ouldn't suggest coming to Albuquerque unless you don't mind it being dry eleven months out of the year, and you don't mind it being a bit on the boring side.

If you're going ot the Southwest, go to Pheonix. The weather is hotter and dryer, and the weather is fr more unpredictable. I've been to Albequerque several times before, and the weather isn't all that great. In fact, there are times when the temperature's higher back in PA!

Duh. But unpredictab;e weather is fun! :D Plus, we have great huge forest fires, sometimess we get overwhelming snow, the heat is incredible in the summer, and it gets kinda cold in the winter, too!

Avoid Muskegon Like the Plague!!

For one thing none of the hospitals are hiring and several have laid off people so your boyfriend isn't too likely to find a job there. There isn't much else in the way of decent jobs right now anyway.

And it's a boring as hell town. There isn't shit to do most of the time.

Not that it would matter an iota, but thanks! Me and Dave were seriously considering Carolina, Dallas, and San Antonio. The others were pretty much to gauge reactions. Umm is the gay scene around Hillsborough and Raleigh (yes I'm aware of gay rednecks and have no problem with dating them ROFL) any good? I also just realized something else: BEACHES!!!!! I think I'm gonna ask to go to Carolina....

Cheers! Nawlins is a nice place to visit, but living here it's everything I can do to not become racist like everyone else in New Orleans (Seems there's a bunch of Full Moons all lined up in a row beaming Bozo Rays™ at New Orleans to make everyone act out those stupid racial stereotypes that the WCOTC likes to believe in! Ick!) Baton Rouge is a nice place tho. Everybody acts nice and civilized instead of being rude savage cavemen in Nawlins...

You must remember. Rocky Mount is full of rednecks. If you move there, you will have to deal with that. Yes, in NC, you have beaches and mountains within a few hours from everywhere. ANd yes, there's a pretty decent gay scene in Raleigh and Hillsborough. And you're not far from Fayetteville, another hot spot with lots of men in uniform.

Thanx Kelly! Sounds perfect then! and no I don't think we'd have a problem with rednex... We can get a gun collection and show 'em that! (Hint: A Barrett M82 .50 BMG Sniper Rifle'll keep 'em drolling for a LONG time!! Hint 2: I'm getting one of those bad boys one of these days...) Anyways I think we'll be OK in Rocky Mount!

Of all those places the only one Ive been too is San Antonio. That was around 97 or so. Bout the only thing I remembered was that the capital building was very pretty and the housing was affordable.

The people seemed friendly enough, but I was not there long enough to judge much more than that.
