Copyright law is fucked right up the ass. What is this "life of the artist + 80 years" bullshit? It should be life of the artist plus five or ten years for a reasonable return for the studio or conglomerate which funded the project.

Fucking Disney. Fucking music companies. As long as they can't come up with a creative thought, and as long as politicians whore themselves out to megacorps, this will continue.

Of course, few 'arts' industries if any care about the 'arts' anymore.

Art=Lowest common demonitor's laughtrack cousin.

Theyre also paying people to listen to all the popular music to try and find a winning format. :roll:
All of a sudden i'm reminded of one of the architect's in Ayn Rand's "The Fountainhead", the one who made all of his buildings a fully collaborated effort. :) .

I wouldnt even mind the extended copyright as long as they lowered the price (30ct's a song on itunes for example)

My big issue with the music idustry is never being able to find anything I want. Like Dune for example.

Or any decent soundtrack or game music, any non mainstream music is very hard to find outside the uk,us,western europe.
That's what limewire is for :twisted:
(pat's Guilty gear xx soundtrack as part of 8GB size game genre :) ) -

Well, I suppose I can rest easy knowing that such gems as "Girl Fight", "Generic Rap Song...Bitch" and the entire Maroon 5 song catalogue will not enter the public domain until well after I am dead. I suppose there is some good to this law after all.

Discover the cure for cancer, workable fusion power or something actually useful and your patent will be valid for twenty years. Write a song and it's copyrights will hold for 90 years.

At least it's not the opposite way round.
Also 20 years of monopoly on a technology usually lasts a long time (look at AT&T)
