Doesnt Luke use the force to trip/wreck an ATAT?
Also Jedi/Sith characters are the best thing's in game's since marines (the original Doom one)

You'd think that someone with Jedi precog would, but I guess that's where the whole "shroud of the darkside" bit comes into play.
It's also built into the troopers on a fairly basic level - Jedi semi-telepathy wouldn't help either, as the troops didn't feel any actual hostility towards the Jedi before they slaughtered them.

Kinda scary, really...

In case anyone is wondering, Mike's solution to the Jedi problem is turning a blaster's power setting all the way up and blasting the ground because the amount of energy would cause a small explosion capable of causing injury. Reference the effects of Han's DL-44 on the docking bay walls in ANH.. now picture that happening all around your feet.

Doom was great, but was there anything special about the Marines? They just wielded a really nice arsenal. Well, they looked kinda cool too.. I like the helmets and the badass ab-baring armor, just so you know they do their sit-ups :D

Edit: Doom Marines also have Force Speed on all the time. Mad running speed!

Yes, in Dark Empire # 1, right after he reflects its cannon fire back at it.

Yeah, R2 never getting blasted is always BS, ok, so maybe they didn't know he was with the other guys when he was buzzing around the Genosis arena, but there were several times he should of been fraged on the Invisible Hand. (he attacks a SB Droid threatening him with his laser canons with his fusion cutters and instead of automaticly blasting him away he whies like a bitch and kicks him) Hell, I'd do it just out of spite, no matter how many shots we fire at them none of them land and they are quickly cutting a way to me, fuck it, I'll hurt them whatever way I can, even if it means blowing away a cocky little droid.

Clearly the battle droids on the Invisible Hand had strict orders not to harm the Supreme Chancellor or his party, which included R2-D2.

But one of the threw or pushed or what ever that sent him at the wall at break neck speeds. shurly when given orders not to hurt some one, you don't slam them 3 feet into a wall so fast they almost "Splat"

But what about when artoo gets thrown into a wall? Surely if given orders not to a hurt some one, you wouldn't shove them at a wall to were they almost splat.

But according to the laws of Star Wars, it all means naught if the astromech droid survives!

I would surrender and if a rescue team showed up claim he disarmed and incapacitated me.
The stormtroopers didn't seem to suffer undue casualties carrying out order 66, by in large. The element of surprise seems pretty effective (after all, who'se going to be prepared for your own troops shooting you without warning?).
But when they didn't have the element of suprise, they got massacred. That one padawan that Bail saw took out at least five or six clones, not to mention the beating Obi and Yoda dished out outside the temple. Even the Jedi guy with the funny head on the bridge managed to take a few of them out with him.

It would seem that Ki Adi Mundii (sp?) was among the very few Jedi who perceived that something rotten was going on. Perhaps it was just that his troops failed to obey him, so he had time to react, but most other Jedi excluding Yoda were caught with their pants down. Does the novelization explain this in any detail?

Clone = human being. Sort of. Jedi assume that if anything goes wrong, their precog can help them out.

However, Order 66 does not cause any change in the mental/emotional state of the clones; it may be on a deeply fundamental level, to the point where it isn't even a choice as to whether they carry it out or not. With no feeling of anger or hate towards the Jedi - it truly isn't personal - the Jedi have nothing to set off their internal warnings. Thus, unless they're relying on senses other than their precog - which Yoda and Ki-Adi-Mundi apparently were - they have nothing to warn them that the Clones were about to attack.

If I were a stormtrooper facing a jedi, I'd use a flamethrower. Or a grenade.

HAH! PARRY THAT, BITCH!!

On second thought, he'd probably use TK to redirect it. Bah.

Sniper rifle!

Precog and ESP. Bah.

Booby traps!

Some Jedi might have had a premonition of their clone troopers opening fire on their unguarded backs, but even with an advance warning a split-second before it happened, they might have been too confused to actually respond.

For example, if their precognition provided them with a warning that three SBDs were about to open fire from behind them, they'd respond to that quickly enough. The image of the soldiers they'd come to trust (and, in some cases, come to know) firing on them may have confused them just long enough for them to get blasted.

That's merely my hypothesis, but I don't think it's farfetched in the least.

Edit: Reference the look on Ki-Adu-Mundi's face.
Picture an alternate situation where clonetroopers were already known to be hostile. If that same placement of characters were to arise, where he was at that range in front of a group of them, I doubt he would be unable to easily overcome them.
