How Powerful would Superman Be If....

Post by THEHOOLIGANJEDI »

You Saturated his Body with Kryptonite X, and threw him Into a yellow Sun where he sits there for a year

Just an Inquiry to see what would happen. I'm coming up with a fanfic and I'm curious.

This is what KX did to Supes before:

This form of Kryptonite was formed in Superman #82 when the Eradicator blocked a Kryptonite blast from hitting an unpowered Superman. Although, him sheilding Superman was ineffective, he transferred all of his powers to Supes and in the process the Kryptonite was altered and absorbed into Supes body. Now the effect of Kryptonite X are very odd, normally Supes power levels are at a certain level unless he is in close proximity to the Sun(or inside the Sun itself) whereas his powers would increase exponentially in a manner of minutes/seconds. Kryptonite X caused Superman to start uncontrollably absorbing solar rays at a phenominal rate (thus his powers increased so much that he was a danger to Earth). Superman noted that his powers were increasing when he was fighting Cauldron and shot his arm off with heat vision, and realized that his blast was more powerful than he anticipated (ref. Action Comics #695). Second was when he was facing Lobo and he punched him (from Metropolis) into orbit (he would have kept on going if he didn't hook on to a ship). His second huge feat was throwing that ship which had a mass of the Moon, Thousands of lightyears and catching up to it. (ref. Superman the Man of Steel #30)

Superman would get all hyper, and the universe would collapse on itself because of him.

I wonder if he would explode from the raw power intake?

Wow, I didn't know Superman went that far over the top. How is he supposed to grab a ship and throw it thousands of light years, no matter how strong he is? Even an infinitely strong shove wouldn't do that, and it would tear the ship apart anyway.

I guess that's what happens when current comic writers forget part of what the Crisis was suppost to do.

He would absorb so much solar rays that he would end up not being able to control his body. As such, he would probably end up absorbing too much power and blowing up with the force of an expoding sun.

Yeah for a time he was a little over the top with his powers but the excess was sucked out by the Parasite, so he was back to normal for a time. But really how powerful would he get if my scenario happened.

Not really, there were a number of PostCrisis storylines with other Kryptonites. Mr. Mxy(I don't know the rest of his name) created Red Kryptonite that cancelled out his powers.

What so wrong with the power increase, I actually liked that storyline. It's not like he had all those silly powers from the old silver-age years.

Well, how would he explode with power? Can't Supes (in DC 1 million) be in the center of the Earth and be Superman Prime if he is in there for nearly a million years.

Hehehe....well, molecular movement...the enrgy would cause all his cells to move around so quickly that the entropy in his body would be too mucgh to contain, then KABOOM!

They used to do crap like that on The Challenge Of The Superfriends cartoon show all the time. Like in an episode when the Toyman (of the Legion Of Doom) grew to huge proportions, then shot the Superfriends in a sealed glass tube to Saturn —which landed on the surface (I am not making this up) within minutes. With a giant kid's slingshot with FTL capability!

So really, what's OTT?

This was an Alien vessel, that can travel at superluminals speeds. But would what you say happen to that ship? I don't really know.

All I know from what I've seen in MOS #30 Superman was somewhat close to PreCrisis levels. What are some other PostCrisis Power increase storylines. I know that He beat Imperiex by increasing his powers. How?

Acyually that isn't even half as bad as pre-crisis supes. He made suns by crashing planets together and sneezed a "magic powder" so hard he destroied a far-away solor system.

Remember comic rule number #1: anyone but a select few will always come back and even then, if the writer thinks it'll enhance the story they come back.

And as for Supes...the writers are on a new wankfest high...basically giving a thousand and one powers(he has now Super mind powers...I shit you not) and overall I'm amazed he has yet to become Pre-crisis...(and back then all of that pales in comparison to PUNCHING HOLES IN TIME)

You do not want to know the debates I've had with people saying how unrealistic that is(I'm being serious...people believed that this could happen)

Yep...much like the 1 million superman...Silver Age Supes punched HOLE in TIME.

Seriously even as a lad all I could see is my clock...think what perhaps time meant for my small scope of thinking, and consider how ridiculous that truly was.

Nowadays I am trying to wonder what crack they were on...
