It's the remix to "Requiem for a Dream" that was used in the trailers for LotR: TTT. The piece is called "Lux Aeterna" and is done (remixed?) by Clint Mansell. That's most likely how you know it.

Yes, I'm pretty sure they used it for the LotR: RotK trailers (at least one of them) as well, although I'm not sure in what other movie trailers it might have been used. Best of luck in finding it; it's a very cool piece of music, and I'm glad I could help.
