First picture is of the Remin Targetting a unshielded E-E Engineering section.
The resulting attack does little damage to the E-E

So much for the Old Vs debate Phallacy"Fed vessels can only fire 1 phaser array at a time."
Enjoy.

Rather then use Technobable to find the cloaked ship Picard order full phaser fire from all arrays. The E-E was averaging 4 shots per second and they were firing EVERYWHERE. They also used the rear torp launcher to fire one 4 torpedo burst and then a 5 torpedo burst in the span of less then 2 seconds.Mr Bean wrote:Pretty Cool? Evil Picard? Bio Weapons... No technoshit to defeat the enemy, just pure firepower.

Duh- maybe that's because the purpose is to disable the weapons, just like Shinzon orders?Laird wrote:For people who don't have broadband I took the liberty to snap a few screen shots from the trailer.

Well victory for the Feds is assured nowPhaser Deathblossom.

Very admirable. Whoever wrote that one deserves credit in all seriousness. We've seen the E-D fire many of its phaser arrays before in a TNG episode IIRC.Alyeska wrote:

GODDAMIT THEY CHANGED THE PHOTON TORPEDOES FUCKING AGAIN. LEAVE EM ALONE IN BETWEEN FILMS GODDAMITTTTT

Changed? We already know from Insurrection that this particular aft launcher fires Photon Torpedoes. We already saw another clip that still shows Quantum Torpedoes from the forward launcher.Vympel wrote:Very admirable. Whoever wrote that one deserves credit in all seriousness. Or do you mean how the torpedoes look in general? For all we know these are upgraded torpedoes.

The rear firing photons don't look anything like torpedoes- i don't know what they were- they didn't have the flashing spinning ball lookAlyeska wrote:Changed? They didn't have the flashing spinning ball look in Insurrection either. We also see them come from the same location that the torpedoes from Insurrection came from.Vympel wrote:The rear firing photons don't look anything like torpedoes- i don't know what they were- they didn't have the flashing spinning ball look

I've only seen Insurrection once- and I could barely see the torpedoes- I preferred the First Contact ones.Alyeska wrote:They didn't have the flashing spinning ball look in Insurrection either. I just stated a fact that in vs debates that it is generally accepted or said "1 hit to a fed ships warpcore or nacelle" will turn them into cosmic road kill.
Second point is also valid point"Fed ships only use 1 phaser array at a time and fire at close ranges" well the point of the pictures proves that..I didn't say it would "assure victory!!!!" or come in screaming like a tardcake"STAR TREKZ OWNZ JOO!".
Now that I made my point I will not bother debating with someone below me who can't debate with out opening witha flame.
To the rest of sd.net debaters I hope that guy does not represent the lot of you.

And by quite intelligent you mean "not stupid."Shinova wrote:And they're using less technobabble. E-E fires phasers everywhere and the instant they hit the Reman ship's shields, the phasers concentrate fire on that spot.
Not technobabble, and quite intelligent.

No complaints here. They can whine all they want about the E-Es accuracy against a CLOAKED target.Laird wrote:I wonder how long it will take some one to make an arguement about fedration ships weapons accuracy?

For christ's sake folks, the movie is not even out yet. Give it a rest until its on screen. There's just not enough info from these trailers to make a succinct argument.

Actually, Lairdy ol' chap, I thought it was pretty much accepted that the Uber-Fragile Warpcore O' Death was a design flaw in pretty much the Galaxy-class only.I just stated a fact that in vs debates that it is generally accepted or said "1 hit to a fed ships warpcore or nacelle" will turn them into cosmic road kill.
Last I checked, the E-E ain't a GCS...

A design flaw limited to the first models at that. Later models and upgrade fixed the problem.SPOOFE wrote:Actually, Lairdy ol' chap, I thought it was pretty much accepted that the Uber-Fragile Warpcore O' Death was a design flaw in pretty much the Galaxy-class only.I just stated a fact that in vs debates that it is generally accepted or said "1 hit to a fed ships warpcore or nacelle" will turn them into cosmic road kill.

What's next, the Scimitar being replaced by the Klingon Bird or Prey from ST:VI?
