Yep, the Rommies take it. They happen to be soldiers. The 501st happen to be Star Wars fans. I'm a Star Wars fan too. Does that mean I'll be able to control imperial Hardware? No. The ICS states that an expert human pilot is required to control the AT ST in difficult terrain. Sure, this is an empty city, so they don't need to be experts. No, they just need to turn it on and immediately learn to control a scout walker, a difficult task in itself.

I don't really want to rehash old statements, but on the TIEs: They are not like normal planes. They aren't aerodynamic and are helluva fast. Even if you had previous knowledge flying, that wouldn't mean you could control a space superiorty fighter than can leave the atmosphere with ease, which points to plenty of speed.

501st get wiped. Or, they see the Romulans easily dismatling them, then they surrender.

Any retarded teenager can figure out how to point and shoot.
No, the average teenager will shoot from the hip, wildly spraying fire like fucking Rambo, and probably won't have the manual dexterity under the body glove or vision under that helmet to see. Plus, you havn't addressed the fact of these people probably thinking it's a joke until they explode in a spray of charred organs by trying a Thermal Detonator, or their comrades getting fucking vapourised by Disruptors.
If we take into account the arms, and lack of armor, that the rommies are using, versus the armor and arms that the 501 has...
You know what arms Romulans soldiers are using? Interesting, considering we've never seen them ever and are known to have been able to hold a planet with only 2000 soldiers, re-capture a planet the Federation had several times failed at taking, and have dedicated ground support fightercraft.
Well, the Rommies would have to get into Range first before being able to even touch the 501. 5 scout/snipers with HBCs could wipe out so many Rommies it's not even funny.
Your bullfuckery is what's really funny. Evidence for any of your mindless arguments, please?
Also, you have to realize the 501, being born on Earth, have a slight advantage there. They understand the field, and the natural resources, a lot better.
What? You think every man alive knows the ins and outs of Indianapolis?
And, to whomever made the fert. bomb comment: Are you retarded? You're assuming that these people have come into contact with these components before, and have the scientific know-how to create the bomb. Quite a few adults have no idea how to make a fert. bomb, and they've been on earth their entire lives...
Um, yeah. In Trek, have you noticed that everyone has a very strong scientific grounding(eg, technobabble of the week, Kirk making a cannon that shoots diamonds, etc.)

So, overall, you make no good arguments and only showed that you are a wanker.

I'm a total Star Wars guy, but this debate is just stupid. Who cares what sort of exotic hardware the Romulans might be using? They're professional soldiers, any sort of basic rifle is all they'll need to slaughter civilians armed with unfamiliar weapons.
If Religion and Politics were characters on a soap opera, Religion would be the one that goes insane with jealousy over Politics' intimate relationship with Reality, and secretly murder Politics in the night, skin the corpse, and run around its apartment wearing the skin like a cape shouting "My votes now! All votes for me! Wheeee!" -- Lagmonster

... are you a member?

And what percentage would you estimate of them are former military? And for these purposes, lets exclude navy and air force as this will be infantry combat (I expect those walkers and TIEs to hit the dirt inside 10 minutes)
I would imagine they're smart enough to *NOT* use the vehicles until they actually know how to.

The 501st can win if they're smart enough to not dick around with the complicated gear and stick to blasters, which they logically WOULD do since they know they're gonna die if they don't.

Additionally, even if they're not familiar with what kind of products they could find the necessary chemicals in (fertilizer at Home Depot, etc.), they're probably packing the Romulan equivalent of Tricorders. They'll be able to use those to find whatever the hell they need in the city.

Also, does anybody have specs on the troop transports? Do they have sensors, etc.? If they do, the Romulans have a constant birds-eye view of the city. First thing they're going to do is draw up a detailed map of the city then use the transports to monitor the battlefield at all times. Unless the 501st figures out how to use they're probe droids or floating camera balls, that's a HUGE advantage for the Romulans.

OT: Did Kirk really make a diamond shooting cannon or was that just sarcasm :? ?

I guarantee you that there will be a bunch of people who will immediately go "ZOMG A TIE FIGHTER!!!11!!1!" and insist on trying to use it.

I would submit that most of the stupid dumbass fans are not members of the 501st, which is a fairly elite group.

In short:
Enterprise chases Gorn ship after it attacks a Fed colony, both ships wander into the territory of supra entity. To slove the two ships "petty" conflict, the being transports Kirk and the Gorn captain onto a desolate world cut off from their crews, and they are told they must kill each other using only the natural elements avalible. Whoever losses has their ship blown up, and the winner is set back to his ship and free to go. After a long battle, Kirk puts togther this diamond gun and shoots the Gorn captain.
