The frothing-at-the-mouth crowbar charge in Half-Life 2 Deathmatch. If you manage to catch someone unawares, and sprint up to them, they're as good as dead. For extra comedy value, attack someone with a rocket launcher or crossbow.

Heh, that was annoying for awhile until I realized that a charging guy with crowbar/baton is only a larger version of a slow skulk and proceeded to dance around them :P

Call of Duty: TANK HUNTING! I collect every AT weapon I can get, and can often single-handedly put an end to tank warfare on smaller maps. I swear, launching a panzerfaust into the top of a Sherman, yum. Hell, sometimes when I'm out of AT weapons, I'll pull the pin on a grenade and let myself get run over. If the tank is damaged, it'll usually blow them to pieces. *runs back to CoD*

It hurts me to kill a tank sometimes, due to my own love of them, but when I watch the kiddies controlling them, oh well, no sympathy now.

Also, when playing CoD on a non-tank map, I use a tactic commonly called MG-sniping (or MG-snipz0ring for gamers.) People really underestimate MGs; they are fucking accurate and powerful as hell. Most players tend to empty their entire drum or belt within seconds and manage to kill only one enemy.
The trick with MGs is to be conservative with ammo, and only fire in short bursts. Of course, many people lack such common sense, and unleash a trillion rounds at a barely visible target.

Back when I was playing BF1942, in Coral Sea, I always played the engineer class. I would hitch a ride in the backseat of a dive bomber and do my best to keep it protected on it was inevitably shot down. Hopefully I would be able to parachute on to the enemy carrier, and that's when the real fun would begin.

It's just so fun to mine the enemy planes. I would watch two players spawn in at the same time, try to take off at the same time, and blow up at the same time. I would then mine them again and watch the same two idiots do the exact same thing.

I need to find that damn CD...

Surpressing fire! :P

That reminds me... In DC, I get on an A-10, and instead of flying, I just drive it like I would a tank. Mows down infantry like nothing, and when you run into another tank, charge and jump out right before you slam into it.

BF2: I shoot airplanes and helos with anti-tank weapons. I'm actually quite accurate with them too - I managed to send a chopper spiraling out of control with a good hit once.

One of the more unusual moves I pulled occured when I was playing Halo 2 Team Slayer on Headlong. Essentially, the four guys on the other team were holed up in the building connected to the main tower via walkway with a bunch of sniper rifles and grenades. Every time anyone on my team got close (up the air vent, direct approach across bridge, Warthog with Gauss cannon) we got bown up or sniped. Eventually, I got tired of getting shot in the head, so I got in the Banshee and flew directly through the upper story window, right into their faces. A few splatters and plasma cannon volleys (and a dead me curtesy of a parting frag grenade) they were pushed out of their little spot. Its not the most spectacular or original move in the world, but it suprised the hell out of them.

X-COM, the oooold one. My absolute favorite tactic was to be cruel and hire rookies from Hamas, load 'em up with explosives and send the poor, otherwise unarmed bastards against those alien hordes. Worked wonders, really. Cheaper and more effective than manufacturing a blaster bomb shell. :P

Hehe. That reminds me of my X-COM tactic. Number one killer of X-COM operatives? Doors. Ergo I never once opened a door (with the exception of UFOs). Instead, I'd use rockets, rocket tanks, grenades, heavy cannons, and any other explosives to simply remove ENTIRE WALLS and fire in through the hole. And since the wall, in the act of being destroyed, stopped the blast, even on terror sites, civvies would survive.

Note: Does not work on blaster shells. THOSE penetrate walls ;)

Hold up, when does CoD support tank fighting?!? I've never seen a tank on a map!

I assume they're playing CoD:United Offensive, the expansion pack; that's got some maps with tanks present.

C&C generals and pretty much won the game:

Problem:
- I (China) hold every oil rig of the map
- my friend (GLA) has no money left to build anything
- the majority of my friend's units are chemical scud luancher, chemical tractors, 1 Jarmen Kell (veteran - cloaked). You know: mean anti infantry units
- so basicly I just had to finish of his base and whats left of his army

Sollution:
- surround his base
- build a shitload of barracks around his base
- Continiously build red guard.
- set waypoint to enemy base
- see a massive red "blob" move across the map
- see hundreds of red guard die every few seconds while gaining ground at a rate of 1 pixel per minute
- if a hostile tank runs trough your infantry wave: send a nuke to destroy the tank. Frienly fire is a bitch but a risk i'm willing to take

After thousands of red guard died needlessly, they finally secured the area :P

On the transit level of devastation, rather than moving in and taking ground on a grand scale to destroy the enemy spawner, i just used a single rat bomb, sneaking past all the graituis defenses and taking out there base from long range

My favourite is the fake and boom. In any first person shooter where I have any type of mine, I'd drop it face some one and fake hit. Limp away. Run around a corner and when they followed clack clack... boom. That and in Raven Shield the use of tear gas is funny. You can't aim straight? Allow me.

In Homeworld I would use the size and shape of the enemies mothership against them. Warp a small fleet on one side of the mothership, when his fleet is moving to engage, warp then other feelt to the other side and wreak havok since he haas to go around his mothership or fire at his own mother ship to hit me.

HALO 2, Banshee. I get on one of those, and the only time I'm ever off is if I do something stupid like jump out over the edge of the map, or too high up. I've gotten so good at it that no one with the rocket launcher can shoot me down before dying...

i loved using the handguns in goldeneye for the n64 to score as many headshots as possible. not exactly conventional but it was a big boost to your score. there was also Metal Gear Solid. wound up getting a real kick from strapping C4 to the back of soldiers, tapping them on the shoulder and then blowing it up after i got away safely enough.

Another devastation tactic of myne:
1. Get Katana
2. Find enemy
3. Slice head off
4. Pick up head
5. Throw head at other enemy
6. cut off there head
7. Repete steps 4-6 over and over

In Goldeneye for the n64, I always used to throw the remote mines at people who were shhoting at me like grenades, and detonate them in midair (preferably right on top of the guy shooting at me). Am I the only one who did this?
