Well, it certainly is.....inventive. :P

And the idea of Yoda on a huge thrown of some sort, perhaps in a black cloak does make for an interesting image.

I guess your idea is OR vs. NR/ Old Jedi vs. New Jedi in a sense (if say the council had taken over the Senate and liked where they were or something.) I can honestly say it is a new idea to me. Interesting.....

But really, living underware and living staff's able to deflect lightsabers? Bah! With a little imagination, you could have had armor from uber-scant beast hide. Or a staff made from 'blackwood' or some such. Don't need to have it fucking alive.
So its better if it is already dead?! Thats even stupider. ANd Vondum Crab armor and Amphistaffs supposedly give off em fields that block lightsabers or something like that.
Not really, boiled leather is strong as hell and resiliant. A tortoise shell is dense and heavy. There are plenty of 'organic' materials out there with properties that would make em decent 'armor'. Damn Japanese armor was wood and leather for christs sake.

Would it or should it be invulnerable to lightsabers? No. But we know from Vaders shoulder armor that dense armor can withstand glancing blow's from a saber. That would be all that's needed, and still keep the 'organic' and 'primitive/alien' feel of the Vong.

You mean like a cross between Mon Cals and Andalite Dome ships?
Sure, after all, if their going to bring an entire civilization from one galaxy to another, you'd want all manner of things from 'home'. The living inside a big animal for a ship was dumb, but having your ships crammed with all manner a shit from home makes sense.

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

None of which are as strong as a thin sheet of steel or a slab of concrete. Blasters can blow gigantic holes/chunks in/out (of) them. Organic armor would do diddly squat. Boiled leather or tortoise shells (nor Japanese armor) would not protect you from a 7.62 mm bullet, much less a blaster bolt or a lightsaber.

To begin with, you can't compare dense metal with organic material.
Also, Vader's armor is supposed to be made out of phrik alloy, which is extremely resistant to lightsabers. It isn't just dense armor, it is a special type that is purpose built against lightsabers. And no organic matter could survive a hit from a SW energy weapon (exluding the Vong stuff, and even that gave off EM fields, it didn't actually make contact).

You may not like it, but there are several being's whose skin/shell can resist energy weaponry. Rancors, as already listed, Kryat Dragon plate (yes, I know the former guard killed it with a blaster, but he had to shoot it at point blank in the forehead.) Voodun Crab armor and Yorik Coral can also repel energy weapons (although both fail under higher powered attacks and concentrated force.)

Both of them are resistant to blasters, I would be upset by an organic material that would be almost impervious to energy weapons. And Yorik Coral and Vondum crab armor both fail under two or three hits with a blaster.
Yorik Coral is actually relatively fragile, the trick is getting past Dovin Basals.

That would be cool. Make a movie of it. Like at the end of AotC, when you see all the clones going into ships, just replace them with badass yoda warriors.
