Never get a Wookie madPurpleTattoo wrote:As everyone else said, this even't even remotely fair. Neither one of them shows much skill in combat (though Chewie has never had any need to be skillful), so I vote for reach and strength.

The sad thing is how embarassing it would be for Worf to be beaten to death with his own severed arms.

Oil an emergency?! It's about time, Brigadier, that the leaders of this planet of yours realised that to remain dependent upon a mineral slime simply doesn't make sense.

Has it been mentioned yet that Worf got knocked on his ass by one punch from a Ferengi? Even if it has, it should be said again.
As for Chewie, I wouldn't be surprised if Wookies had some kind of martial art. He could be very skillful - in the movies we've only seem him fight against foes far below his level. And he always takes them out in an instant.

I think that martial arts are insignifigant next to the power of an enraged wookie beating you to death with your own limbs. Worf is down for the count in this scenario. Maybe we'll get to see him commit ritual suicide to avoid the dishonor of losing.PurpleTattoo wrote:Has it been mentioned yet that Worf got knocked on his ass by one punch from a Ferengi? Martial Arts doesn't count for shit against Chewie, mainly cos in the Hier to the Empire trilogy he learns the basics of Noghiri fighting techniques, and is capable of beating a Noghiri one on one in a wrestling match at any rate.
So it doesn't make any difference if Worf does fight back cos he'd get owned anyway.
This match-up is the equivalent of fighting a midget (sorry but thats the way it would look) namely cos all Chewie has to do is put one hand on Worf's head to keep him out of range, and then smack him once with the other when he gets bored

Just curious, what exactly is shitty about it? Now that I think about it, it resembles Tai Chi more than anything else; At the moment, I just can't recall Worf doing anything more than brawling or charging his opponents.PurpleTattoo wrote:Oh I agree, and certainly the martial art Worf practices is pretty shitty. I'm just theorizing that Chewie could actually be extremely skilled, even though we haven't seen it.
Chewie's skills would really come into play if he had a more equal opponent, which is sorely lacking in this scenario.

well in current EU timeline worf would win, as a red smear of walking carpet post moon drop won't be putting up much of a fight.
now how about Jango Fett (head cut off) vs. Tasha Yar (flat out killed by tar)

Jango's got armor, which will help to preserve his corpse better. I'm giving it to him.The Yosemite Bear wrote:well in current EU timeline worf would win, as a red smear of walking carpet post moon drop won't be putting up much of a fight.

I mean the way Worf fights is rather shitty, so the martial art ain't helping him too much. It's not unbelievably bad, just stiff and clearly staged, like most Trek fist fights. Nothing to give him an edge against a giant.Just curious, what exactly is shitty about it? Even if Worf were the most skilled martial artist in the galaxy, it wouldn't matter one jot after Chewie ripped his arms out of their sockets and started beating him to death with them. And that's assuming Chewie's in a sadistic mood and wants to have a little fun in the cage.PurpleTattoo wrote:I mean the way Worf fights is rather shitty, so the martial art ain't helping him too much. It was in Dark Force Rising, and while I agree that Chewie has got hight and reach on his side against a Noghri, you gotta remember that when he was going for Karhabak's (or whatever his name is) throat, Karhabak managed to hold him back for a while (although Chewie was stronger). Noghri are pretty goddamn tough.Mr CorSec wrote:Martial Arts doesn't count for shit against Chewie, mainly cos in the Hier to the Empire trilogy he learns the basics of Noghiri fighting techniques, and is capable of beating a Noghiri one on one in a wrestling match at any rate.

If we're talking the type of steel cage match where the objective is to climb out before your opponent does, I give it to Worf. Hey, I'd climb pretty damned fast, too, if I was in a cage with a Wookie who wanted to hurt me.
If the objective is to just kick your opponent's ass, then yeah, Chewie takes it.

I doubt he could climb as fast as Chewbacca, the aboreal Wookiee from the worshyr tree-covered planet of Kashyyyk, and his rather vicious-looking claws.Trogdor wrote:If we're talking the type of steel cage match where the objective is to climb out before your opponent does, I give it to Worf. Prognosis for that kind of cage match: Worf climbs, Chewbacca climbs faster, rips off Worf's arms, then climbs out.

Worf growls at Chewie
Chewie grabs Worf and picks him up like he was a small child
Worf bites Chewie
Chewie decides he doesn't like this.
Chewie proceeds to show that a Klingons arms make for good ties, there legs make for good planters, there bodies for good animal bait, and there skulls make good Jack-o-lanterns.
Either that, or Chewie takes it the wrong way and decides that it's be a long time since he's seen his wife, and she's a very understanding wookie and.....

The biggest problem I see here is this:
Do you have any godly idea how long it will take to wash all the blood out of Chewie's fur?
