These newfangled Trektards bring nothing new to the table. They're content with rehashing the same old bullshit.

Its depressing isn't it. I just trawled through 16 pages of that crap only to see every argument I've been in with Trekkie morons flash before my eyes.

Its only then, that I realised why I try and stay around forums that I KNOW contain a decent percentage of people with an IQ above that of the average garden dirt.

Why can we not create one, enormous, detailed, super-smackdown post, that is the online equivalent of crayons, butchers paper and sock-puppets to explain the simple facts to these people? Then just post it whenever we find something like this.

Morons and liars share one characteristic: if their arguments are defeated, they simply come back months or years later and repeat them as if it never happened.

Just another tactic that they appear to have copied from creationists.

I've seen these before. Dragon actually left out several of the middle frames, in which Sisko (God, I hope that's him in those blurry caps) appears to sweep the wall with the phaser, and the rock vanishes without exploding.

Also, that hole looks much larger than the one from TNG: "Chain of Command." In the TNG episode, a phaser at level-16 and narrow beam created a hole that Picard, Worf, and Crusher had to crawl through. In the DS9 episode, it looks like Sisko and... whoever... just have to step on through.
Found the pic you were talking about

Looks like he sweeping across the cave wall. So the energy was less powerfull and more controlled I geuss. But I love how it vaps the rock yet there no obivious heat. They should have put more thought into phasers

If that was melting by heat there would have been dripping rock from the celling and there should have been heat disturbance in the atmosphere.

So what we have here is marines with SMG and Light Machine Guns (With a few Grenades)VS marines with SMG and pistols plus a pocket pc.

That is using equivelents. The pocket PC has a Radio and Radar set included.

NOW WE PUT THEM IN A ROLLING HILLSIDE. Visibility in such situations is limited at best already. Atg Antetiem, The rolling hills actually helped to conceel Union Troops as the approached the area now known as the Bloody Lane. The South had ann eccellent defencive position but since the hills gave the UNION FORCES THE ABILITY to move forward in places that put them out of LOS attack. At such points the Red shirts would not be able to use their weapons on the advancing enemy.

I give it to the US marines with Stormie gear. Even TOS phasers can't match an E-11. Especially considering that the Stormies get grenades. But if we are using TOS phasers, couldn't they overload one and chuck it at them. If I search deep into the pits of my memory, didn't they evacuate an entire deck?

But I think that was for radiation danger, and Stormies have NBC protection.

Yeah the Trekkie marines are probably screwed over in this case.

Well, if it were for explosive capablility, there's the little problem of the blast radius being far in excess of their running distance.

Yeah, then they brought out the "Well, it's Bloodlust, so they'll be suicidially stupid" excuse. No Chuckles, that's not what Khazan Bloodlust is. beleive me, I'm the guy who actually named the fucking term, I know what the hell it means.

(BTW: Khazan Bloodlust is the default condition of any participants in a CBR fight(to tell the truth, I use it everywhere else by reflex, too). It basically means that the fighters involved will do anything it takes to win the fight as soon as possible, regardless of any usual MO's of not killing or playing with their foes. Granted, there are a few people immune to Bloodlust. One of those is Belldandy from Ah! My Goddess, and that's assuming her opponent isn't directly resposible for the death or intense suffering of Keiichi Morisato anytime before the fight)

Now, somebody's trying to pull of an argument involving "Vacuum Temperature, claiming that in order to vaporize the asteroids in tESB, they would have to be powerful enough to sterilize a continent in one shot(And there's no way a Star Destroyer can do that, BTW). I can't get onto the board for some reason from here yet, so I can't call him on the Vacuum Temperature thing yet. Anything else I should mention?

I think the Marine red shirts would know that throwing awa their only side arm other than their SMG Phaser Rifles would be a bad idea. Get rid of your close quarters weapon is usually a bad idea.

Exactly, though I did forget that. Especially since the actual explosion is somewhat, underwhelming as a weapon.

There's one important side that's been left out: 50 US Marines with SW equipment vs 50 US Marines with ST equipment vs 50 US Marines with USMC equipment.

I've seen nothing in film from either Star Wars or Star Trek that suggests that their technology is any improvement over what we have now.
