Chris Taylor is quick to say this is NOT Total Annihilation. The media is quick to wink at that statement and then state this is TA reborn. I love it.

Damnit, warn someone when you are going to tell them a near orgasm inducing bit of news (Sorry, TA is by and far my farovite game ever).

Oh my god those scans are so reminiscent of the preview scans of the original TA but it's 2005 and oh my god this looks fucking sweet and oh fuck this looks so awesome...

I'm so glad Taylor's finally gotten around to this, this is freakin' sweet!

There's a little child in me whose eyes lit up when the phrase "giant robots with hangars in their shoulders" came up. The Supreme Commander unit is definately a step up from TA's Commander. :D

I will bet dollars to donuts that there will be a Total Annihilation conversion mod for Supreme Commander.

TA LIVES AGAIN@!!!!!!

I especially like the part where they added a feature that gauges how rapidly you click the mouse button. If you're panicking and really want something destroyed, you tend to click like a maniac. The game takes note of that, and prioritizes your target for all your units in the vincinity, apparently.

Cool!

The races seem interesting too. Humans vs. Machines vs. Aliens.

I am REALLY looking forward to this.

This is Total Annihilation

As for Supreme Commander: beautiful, except that I wish Taylor wouldn't go the giant mecha route - the mini mecha and tanks were plenty combined arms for me. Why giant spiders after all? Wouldn't giant tanks making a runway from a mountain and a cannon like a big bertha be cooler than ... a giant mechcanical spider?

ABOUT DAMN TIME! Man, TA rocks to this day, but the pathfinding and crude UI are painful to play sometimes. ALL HAIL THE GREAT AND POWERFUL OZ... *scribblescribble* TAYLOR!

I note a distinct lack of Core logos. That is vexing.
On the other hand, it is TA2.
If there's not an TA mod for it, I will be very annoyed indeed.

Giant Spiders?

One of those Robots looked like the Scarab from Halo2, hah.

This looks damn impressive, I havent actually ever played the first one (it seems to have dissappeared from the face of the planet) But i sure as hell will buy the new one.

TA itself was republished in a jewel-case edition a few years back, I picked up several copies just in case. The Core Contingency expansion pack, however, remains nearly impossible to get one's hands on, and it introduces a lot of REALLY sexy stuff. I found a copy in an old-beat-up combo pack on the top shelf at an EB about 5-6 years ago, and bought it on the spot.
