What if Dooku hired someone else to be cloned for the army?

Bah if it's Spacedy Elves you want why settle for second best... Eldred Ulthwe with the 'Eldar are the best all you Mon-Keigh are scum' aspects of Keigh Personality removed.Matt Huang wrote:ohh, evil idea: Legolas.
Then we get space-elf-eldar-wannabes with plenty of firepower, and even if they are grown-accelerated, a pretty long lifetime by human standards ahead of them.
Of ccourse old Palpy might have a small problem but it's a small price to pay for finally defeating the Jedi....
From a review of the two Towers.... 'As for Gimli being comic relief, what if your comic relief had a huge axe and fells dozens of Orcs? That's a pretty cool comic relief. '

What about the cloned, alien-hybrid Ellen Ripply from Alien Resurection. Acid blood may be a little bit of a downside, but super strength, some sort of mental link (at least with Xenomorphs, probably with other hybrids as well), and capable of being scary to boot. That is not to mention some of the other benefits.

Many of you still seem to believe that behaviour, personality traits and so on are 100% genetic as proven by your assumptions that, say, a clone of James T. Kirk would have Kirk's leadership skills.
This is why I the smartest thing to do is pick characters who are explicitly identified as genetic supermen in their respective source materials - such as Paul Atreides, Jerome from Gattaca or Sephiroth from FF7. (unless, of course, if Sephy's white hair and pale complexion happen to be caused by albinism, which usually also is accompanied by significantly impaired vision... not a desirable trait in a soldier)

*Luck intervenes by giving Palpatine a heart attack and quintiple-brain-hemmorage before he can issue order 66.

How about Thandi Pavane from Weber's Crown of Slaves ?
She's moderately superhuman, smart, and aggressive while still being willing to take orders.
Some of these proposed clone templates would sooner or later inevitably turn on their creators "who Tampered In God's Domain !" and take over or kill them.
Sephiroth did just that,after all.

Yeah, but the regular clones weren't Jenova enhanced or bred for luck - selfish luck. If you intend to use superhumans, I'm saying you should use ones that don't have wierd, hard to control powers that will go out of control as per standard SF plot policy. They would be brainwashed from day0 like the regular clones.

Also how exactly would the clones abilities affect their training from the time they come out of the cloning tankm (even while theyre still in the tank according to Republic Commando).
Cloning Doomsday could work, after all his "only" abilities are strength, toughness and regeneration

Well, Sephiroth - clones would all be affected by the Jenova cells inside them; they appear to have an agenda of their own. Also how exactly would the clones abilities affect their training from the time they come out of the cloning tankm (even while theyre still in the tank according to Republic Commando).
Genetic luck is worse - it acts for the benefit of the gene, and can apparently work across time and space. The "luck" of future clones or descendants of clones will reach back in time and screw up your plans royally.
Stick with strength, speed and toughness. At least then, at worst they beat you up and shoot you - you won't end up destroying humanity or something equally drastic.

Possibly, you would probably have some sort of wierd hive instinct between them though, and you would probably need special acid resistant armor. In exchange, they're faster, stronger, and probably more coordinated. There is possibly full telepathic contact between them.Matt Huang wrote:with the Ripley deal, you also get genetic memory, which will screw you over later on.
They probably wouldn't obey order 66 (or any other that doesn't suit them though) and if they kept updating the DNA, they wouldn't have to keep training more, just cloning them.

How about Schlock from Schlock Mercenary ?
His genetic memory means no training or brainwashing neccessary - just clone him, pay him and pour him into the Clonetrooper armor.
Of course, there will be a small hit on the Clonetrooper army's reputation when they "Burn them and eat the ashes", but you must admit it would be fun to watch.
