New game suggestions

Post by Ace Pace »

I need a new game, can be any genre, though having instant gratification(or atleast very fast) is a must.

I'm just bored and need new stuff.

Grand Theft Auto San-Andreas(Vice City if your being cheap)
Hmm Farcry? Half-Life 2, The Sims 2(Sorta kinda) Silent Hunter III(Wait no instant gratification there forget that one)

Ahh, got one! Might be hard to find but Postal 2 sounds right up your allay today, you play the game as your avarage American Psychopath, your job is to go and do ordinary everyday things, except the game trys to make you flip out and go nuts(Sticks you in long lines, insults you, gets you carjacked all sorts of fun things)
And the weapon selection is oh so evil inculding shovels, "silenced" shotguns AR-15s Gasoline Cans and a Match and of course Throwing Sissors.

First off...getting it, but will take time, and not really an option for buying short term, need to make up excuses why I'm getting an 18+ game :P, same for Postal(which fits my mood perfectly).

All the rest I have, SH3 was doing the bill, but After doing something like 6 patrols over the past few days, its wearing thin

Sid Meier's Pirates! (the new remake). Cruise the seas as an English, French, Dutch, or Spanish privateer, or simply as a nasty, bloodthirsty pirates. Plunder the whole of the Spanish Main from hidden pirate bases. Set out to cleanse the Caribbean of heretics and restore it to Holy Spain. Romance governor's daughters, cross swords with famous pirates, sack towns, dig for treasure, exchange broadsides with merchantmen, frigates, sloops, and brigatines and more! Great, light-hearted pick-up-and-play fun, completely freeform. Live the life of a modest trader or maraud and pillage from Barbados to Vera Cruz.

If Pirates! is that, thanks!

First off...

"Master of Orion 3"
The way the game SHOULD have been made...

Another more silly suggestion...

"Grand Theft Linux"
Where you play the part of a lowly Linux programer caught in the midst of the great Computer Turf wars of Silcon vally. Sell your friends out to be consumed by Microsoft, undermine the hippies over at Mac and sow unrest withen the circle of Unix.

EDIT: Geh sorry! I missread the title, thought this was a thread for games we'ed LIKE to be made, rather then ones someone should buy... Sorry!!

Oh, yes. You spend five seconds picking out a name, difficulty, time period, and area of expertise, and then you can immediately start rampaging across the Caribbean.

I can vouch for the Pirates! remake myself. It's almost as good as the original 8-bit game.

Damn, I was hoping you'd stumbled upon some indy game that I wasn't aware of with Grand Theft Linux, and was going to ask you for a link.

Never played Painkiller but for a B-game, Serious Sam had suprisingly good graphics. Very sharp textures, huge levels

This is going to sound incredibly geeky, but...

That actually sounds like it would be a fun game
