OK here's the fuckups:
CAPTAIN NEMO
Captain Nemo is the captain of the Nautilus and obssessed with
destroying Gargoyle and the Neo-Atlanteans. He too possess a
Blue Water crystal and it takes more than half the series before
we finally find out what his secret backgroud is.
ELECTRA
Electra is the First Officer on the Nautilus. She too is obssessed
with destroying Gargoyle. She is also very protective and possessive
about Nemo. She is the one who argues in favor of rescuing Nadia
and the others.
THE NAUTILUS
The Nautilus was built with Atlantean technology by Captain Nemo
and his crew and launched on June 24, 1888. It is armed with
torpedos and missles and is equiped with advanced sonar and
computers. Its homebase is underground at the south pole
(they get there through a series of underground/undersea tunnels).
According to an article in MeagComics (summer 1991) the rest
of its specs are: length-132 meters; maximum speed-108 knots,
it is based on the design of a second-generation Atlantean
interplanetary spaceship called the "Eltrium". It main drive is
a room-temperature anti-matter engine of unlimited endurance.
Propulsion is by water jet. It has a double hull made of "Space
Titanium". The inspiration for its design came from Toho Studio's
SFX designs. Its long triangular shape shape is a favorite of the
director (which one? they don't say).
The Gratan
The other mecha of this series is the Gratan (short for Grandis Tank) used by the Grandis Gang. Although Grandis herself prefers calling it Catherine, everyone else sticks to Gratan. It is a chameleon mecha, able to shift modes of operation and travel in a few instants. Originally seen as a rolling tank, it can also fly (with a deployed hot air balloon and propellors for propulsion), sail on the suface of the water, and (after some modifications with help from the Nautilus' crew) run in a submarine mode. It has a cannon on top and two extendable arms (waldoes) with grappling hooks on the end. It is surprisingly roomy inside, a fact that is not presented until late in the series. (It is even large enough to have a large bathtub in it, thus giving the Gainax animators an excuse for yet another bath scene.)
