I assume when Obi Wan was holding his own against Jango (killer of multiple Jedi with his bare hands) in hand to hand on Kamino he was displaying this obvious lack of figthing skill or training?

It's this wanking regarding the Fetts that bugs the shit out of me sometimes. I love Fett's death in ROTJ for this very reason. The biggest baddest ass in the known galaxy was beaten by a disoriented blind man.
Nah...he, Kit Fisto, Mace, Yoda, and Shaak Ti are exceptions to the rule. They seem to have actually put some effort into fighting for the sake of staying alive, not just as a means towards greater understanding of the Force...

Jesus fucking Christ. I never imagined the EU Fett :wanker: could get THIS bad. It was already really pushing it in AOTC when Jango was able to knock Obi-Wan on his ass, and gun down a Jedi master. But now Jango's fucking fists >> 7 Jedi lightsabers (according to a previous post here, he did it with his BARE hands, which precludes any excuses about traps or superior firepower)? Fucking child-size Mandalorian armor? Jabba the Hutt actually needing the bounty-hunting services of a teeny bopper? Preteen Boba holding his own against General Grievous, and being involved in high-level assassination attempts that could affect the entire galaxy? Where's a vomiting emoticon when you need one? I guess this would have to do :banghead:

Can someone give me a semi-detailed rundown of the fight between Boba Fett, 12-year old human boy and General Grievous, Kaleesh Jedi Hunter cyborg extraordinaire?!! I mean, okay, GG won, but let's hear what exactly happened.
President Sharky wrote: Boba Fett is also wearing a kid-sized Mandolorian armour.
I was just about to to make some crack in the lines of, "haha, was 12 year old Boba even wearing kid-size Mandalorian armor?"... :?

Fett-wank. Personally I could accept Jango killing seven Jedi over a period of time using preparation, equipment and firepower.. they might have just been Padawans, or Knights who served primarily as ambassadors and negotiators with little combat experience and training.

So Fett-wank, fine. But 12 year old Fett-wank? Isn't that paedophelia?

No, I am merely saying that attacking these books, and the EU in general, on the grounds that LFL is a big 'ol mean company and they want money is kind of stupid. (I am not however, defending these books, I never held with the Junior SW material.)

Jango Fett killed the Jedi with his bare hands. Its even worse than you thought it was. He had no advantage in firepower or armor. Although he did have suprise, tactics, and cunnning on his side.

I like the post-Endor Fett, it was ridiculous for him to die in the sarlaac. Although I agree that the prequal Fett is completely out of control. Iit was still cool though. Maybe Jabba wanted to give him a chance, he was the son of the greatest bounty hunter in the galaxy. Or maybe Jabba wanted a good laugh and thought it would be funny to send a twelve year old to assasinate high level figures.

Somewhat anti-climatic, perhaps.. but ignominous deaths seem to run in the family. Still, a blind Han accidentally setting off his jetpack is a little too much.. he deserved a movie death at least as good as his father's.

Yeah, at least jango died against one of the best Jedi swordmasters every and only when his jetpack malfunctioned. I just realized that both Fetts had jetpack malfuntions contribute to their "death" (real or not) onscreen.
I wish Boba had killed Windu and said "Got'em Dad."'

No way should a 15(?) year old punk be able to take out one of the most powerful Jedi ever. The Fett wank resulting from that would be even more outrageous than it is now.

Can you imagine, the guy that defeated Palpatine in single combat - something Yoda could not do - could be killed by some snot nosed kid?? Absurd.

I was thinking a strafing attack by slave 1 or a shot from behind, not nessecarily a frontal attack. It wouldn't have to be a wank.

Just wanted to say that, as wankery as this is, The Boba Fett series are CHILDREN'S BOOKS, not novels meant for adults.

He didn't die. He got out of the sarlaac after six years, I think it was.

The books are still part of official continuity, and the writer should have been sensible enough to tone down the wank. Would child readers really think any less of the character if he wasn't fighting Jedi-killing cyborgs and trying to assassinate high-level leaders?

Even that would be feeding the wank too much. For God's sake, Boba Fett got built up as the galaxy's ultimate badass from standing around and looking cool in TESB. Can you imagine what the hack EU writers would do if they knew Boba Fett could take out a Jedi Master?

I think maybe I should be like Cato the Elder, who would end every speech on any topic with "Carthage must be destroyed!", no matter how unrelated Carthage was to the subject at hand. Except I'll end every post on SDN "Fuck the EU".

Karthago delenda est was the quote as I remember it. Which translates to "Carthage must be destroyed." No "I think that..."

I am pretty sure he said "And I think/believe Carthage should be destroyed."
I looked at a second source and they said believe instead of think.

Shooting a Jedi Master with a spaceship is not wank. Kiloton energy bolts will screw anyone over. So will seismic charges, proton torpedoes, and concussion missiles. On the ground anyway.

I think the reason he became so popular was the fact that he was a walking arsenal and the way Vader treated him. "No disintegrations!"

Its "Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam" = "aside from that (actual topic of discussion in the senate) i think, that Carthago should be destroyed.

Aside from mentioning kid-soldiers in RL i can't comment on little Boba against Grievous, but the killing of the Jedi by Jango went like this (IIRC) in Open Seasons:

Group of Mandalorians VS Group of Jedi (lead by Dooku) - Jedi demand surrender, Mandalorians say "Fuck you" - battle starts - close friend of Jango is cut in half - Jango runs amok - after the dust has settled all the Mandalorians are dead except Jango and a number of Jedi is dead also.

For those, who argue, that Jango was unable to beat Obi-Wan in AotC, at that point of time is no longer in his prime (more than ten years have passed since OS) and Obi-Wan is hardly your average Jedi.
