Lost Clones
i havent read the Episode III novelizatoin yet, maby it says but now if there were Clone Troopers that werent with their commanders did they get the 66 directive? i mean int he comic that has Luke meeting a Clone Trooper, it seems he never heard of it, i guess they have to keep from say ing 66 infront of him or something but is it possible that there were some Clones that were just hanging out and never got it?

The question is, would somebody as calculating as Palpatine leave something like that to chance?
All you'd have to do is beam the order through their radio headsets, after all, right? How many clones are going to be off by themselves completely cut off from any officers? Even if they were, they'd eventually re-group with the others (or get within radio contact) and hear the order... ding dong the Jedi die...

Re: Lost Clones
Assume everything that this clone knows he is supposed to go after Jedi, by the time Luke finds him, who is left? There are no targets he would possibly know of. And being isolated, he may never have recieved the order if Palpatine only contacted the higher up clone commanders to initiate the order.Tychu wrote:i havent read the Episode III novelizatoin yet, maby it says but now if there were Clone Troopers that werent with their commanders did they get the 66 directive? i mean int he comic that has Luke meeting a Clone Trooper, it seems he never heard of it, i guess they have to keep from say ing 66 infront of him or something but is it possible that there were some Clones that were just hanging out and never got it?
It seems apparent (from RotS) that Clone Commanders (although Bly, Cody and Gree are the only three examples we have) are a critical part of the chain of command in between the Supreme chancellor and the rank-and-file clonetroopers.
IIRC the clone that Luke met was stranded long before Order 66 went out. He was cut off from the command structure, so there's no way he could have received any orders or general status updates; he didn't even know the war was over (!).

Why would they succumb to "clone madness"? Do we have any evidence that it is something that ALL clones would succumb to? We know that the Kaminoans are 'master cloners,' and, if memory serves, Joruus C'Baoth is the only example we have of "clone madness."Odd, I would have thought most clonies would have either succumbed to clone madness or advanced age by then.
Of course, I haven't read much of the EU, so I apologize if in the light of one novel or the other the above statement suddenly becomes incredibly asinine.
I tried being reasonable. I didn't like it.

C'both suffered from madness because of the accelerated cloning process. The Clonetroopers are modified to grow faster and such, but the cloning process itself is not sped up.

When did that happen up till Republic 70 or so he was training more ARC's,not going bat-shit insane?Jason von Evil wrote:There was an ARC Trooper named Alpha who suffered from it.Arancia a Orologia wrote:Why would they succumb to "clone madness"? Also didnt Jorus only go mad due to using the dark side on such a large scale ("mind controlling" large amounts of imp soldiers) while being a clone? I thought he was the main reason that cloning jedi is such a bad idea.

No, his madness resulted from being cloned in the first place. Even the spartii clones aided by being produced near Ysalamiri were unstable after an extended length of time (Major Tierce from the Thrawn Duology.)Also didnt Jorus only go mad due to using the dark side on such a large scale ("mind controlling" large amounts of imp soldiers) while being a clone? Luuke (Luke's clone) caused a localized disruption in the force, Mara killed it and that let Luke help deal with C'borath who exploded from his Dark side energy.Trooper TK12746 wrote:What happened with this clone Luke met?
