I'm confused about your description here. Are you saying that the actual fight wasn't shown, just the beginning and end of it? Were the writers and artists so lazy and wankish that they didn't even bother showing how Jango could plausibly take out 7 Jedi with his bare hands? Did they just cut straight to the aftermath with Jango standing victorious, as if no explanation is necessary? Because he's just that badass? :wanker:

How big is the group of Mandalorians? If he didn't kill them all himself, only survived to the end, that's a LITTLE less wank.

THe fight between Jango and the Jedi isn't described. He just kills seven Jedi with his bare hands. He was then captured by the Jedi and their allies and enslaved. Supposedly this battle is what prompted Dooku to leave the order.

"Fuck the EU!" works for the European Union as well.

I thought of that, but "Fuck the Expanded Universe" or "Fuck the Star Wars EU" just doesn't have the same snap. I'll just yell at people and call them idiots when they jump to the wrong conclusion.

The fight between Jango and the Jedi isn't very detailed. Once Jango runs amok we see only isolated scenes of his hands against necks or punches against the head or the use of his wrist-blades. At the end Jango is surrounded by the surviving Jedi and kneeling exhausted on the ground and forced to realize, that all his men are dead.

Like i already said, the average Jedi can't be compared to an Obi-Wan or a Quinlan Vos.

Taking out seven regular Jedi with your hands is still an incredible feat. Wasn't Jango an apprentice to the Mandalorian Commander?

And I read that there were still three Mandalorian Supercommandos alive (including Boba) when Boba Fett killed Jodo Kast. Is that true?

In the Marvel comics, there were three supercommandos remaining by the OT-era: Fett, Fenn Shysa, and Tobi Dala, IIRC. Shysa and Dala returned to Mandalore, where they fought an Imperial-backed slave ring. Dala died setting off the Imperial garrison's self-destruct. Shysa survived into the post-RotJ era. However, I should point out that virtually the entire backstory of the Mandalorian Supercommandos provided by the comic has been wiped out by the PT and later EU, so the remainder of the story has to be seen as extremely low canon, I would think.

Actually, their story has been reconciled with more current canon and EU. There' s a very detailed history of the Mandalorians in one of the more recent Insiders, and they are included in it.

Well, the complete article is very long and detailed, but the part dealing with the Supercommandos in brief is:

-The supercommandos were a group founded by Jaster Mereel (Fett and him are actually different people) to try and resurrect the glory of the Mandalorians of thousands of years ago. Eventually, a rival faction, known as the Death Watchmen, killed Mereel and wiped out most of the new supercommandos.

-One of Mereel's pupils, Jango Fett, became the head of what was left of the supercommandos, but soon, the Jedi saw the threat that the group posed, and they destroyed it, forcing Jango to abandon it.

-One of the original ARC troopers, Alpha-02, suffering from a conditioning defect that allowed him to access all of Jango's old memories, escaped from Kamino and took it upon himself to rebuild the supercommandos. Dala and Shysa, poor workers on from the planet Mandalore, were eager to resurrect the glory that their people had once held, and anxious to get away from their boring lives, so they joined Alpha. When the Clone Wars broke out, Darth Sidious learned about the group, and used their hatred of the Jedi to turn them into his pawns in the war, fighting as elite commandos against the Republic (this is where the original story of Mandalorians fighting in the clone wars comes in.) One of their missions involved the kidnapping of Padme Amidala, but it was a trap, and the supercommandos were devestated.

-Dala and Shysa survived and went their seperate ways. leaving the remnants of the commandos for their homeworld. After that, their fates as have already been told holds up.

Aside from mentioning kid-soldiers in RL i can't comment on little Boba against Grievous, but the killing of the Jedi by Jango went like this (IIRC) in Open Seasons:

Group of Mandalorians VS Group of Jedi (lead by Dooku) - Jedi demand surrender, Mandalorians say "Fuck you" - battle starts - close friend of Jango is cut in half - Jango runs amok - after the dust has settled all the Mandalorians are dead except Jango and a number of Jedi is dead also.

For those, who argue, that Jango was unable to beat Obi-Wan in AotC, at that point of time is no longer in his prime (more than ten years have passed since OS) and Obi-Wan is hardly your average Jedi.
That's no excuse! The EU wankers have a 60 year old Fett kicking Vong ass (so I hear)... not that the Vong don't deserve to have their wanky asses kicked, but still! Boba was about Jango's age in the classic trilogy wasn't he?

Boba would have been slightly younger, but still close. Jango is approximately 40 in AotC (Temuera Morrison was born in 1961, AotC was filmed 2000-01), while Boba would be approximately 35/36 (age 9/10 in AotC plus 3 years to RotS plus 20 years to ANH plus 3 years to ESB).

Boba Fett was awesome in the fight with Vong. And we don't know the average lifespan of a moderatly wealthy person (or anyone for that matter) in the SW galaxy. 60 could be really young.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? Summary of said battle?
Why wonder why? The answer is simple: obviously, someone somewhere decided that he or she needed Baby Jesus up the ass.

The actor who plays Boba in AOTC is 13 during the filming (born in 1987), and I thought he was playing a 12 year old? (not 9/10 like Anakin is supposed to be in TPM) Maybe I'm wrong...

12+3+20+3 = 38 in ESB (39 in ROTJ)

Temuera would have been 39 in 2000.

Anyway, by that route Boba would be 64-66 in the NJO era! (if he was supposed to be a 10 year old in AOTC, that's still 62-64 years old in time to fight the Vong)

In the Classic Trilogy we've seen old JEDI and old SITH going strong for their age, but we don't know that other senior citizens are flying around kicking butt at that age. Boba doesn't have powered armor, and he's not a superman, so what gives? More Fett wanking I think.

Sure he's a fine physical specimen, but he's lived a hard life. That has got to take its toll eventually I would think...

He was kicking butt and collecting bounties in child size Mandalorian armor and then he was kicking the "uber" aliens who kill Jedi in his golden years. And his dad killed multiple Jedi with his bare hands! HIS BARE HANDS! This has got to stop...

Edit: Oops, NJO takes place 25-27 years after ANH (not ROTJ), my bad. Still, that puts Boba Fett at 60-62 or 58-60 (slightly older than Obi-Wan's official age in ANH, with the prequels in mind) by then. Not quite as bad, but still bad!

60 isn't all that old in the Star Wars universe. More like middle-aged.

I know the actor was 13, but I thought we needed to reconcile his age with the timeline of the cloning program. I.e., Obi-wan said Sifo-Diyas died "almost 10 years ago", which, IIRC, EU sources indicate was almost immediately after he placed the order. That implies Jango was presented as a template to the Kaminoans only 10 to 11 years ago, and since, according to Lama Su, Boba's growth was not accelerated, he presumably had to be gestated for approximately 9 months prior to "birth". To make Boba 12 in AotC, the cloning program would had to have started before the events of TPM, which isn't impossible, but I'm pretty sure the consensus based on the films and EU is that the cloning prgram doesn't start until after Sidious's original plan for exploiting the Trade Federation failed.

Where's the evidence for this? I'm just curious. Again, the only old folks we see doing amazing physical feats are force sensitives or augmented bionic people (or aliens with super long lifespans). Even if old age in the Star Wars universe is 120 years, that doesn't mean that a 60 year old human is going to be as sprightly as a 40 year old in our world.

Well that's reasonable enough. Obi-Wan could have been rounding (he thought Sifo Dyas was killed before that... and did he say "almost 10 years ago" or "more than 10 years ago?"), but I see your point.

According to the AotC script at BlueHarvest, the dialogue is:

LAMA SU: Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas. He's still a leading member of the Jedi Council, is he not?

OBI-WAN: Master Sifo-Dyas was killed almost ten years ago.

I don't have the AotC DVD at hand though, so I should admit that I can't immediately verify that is correct.

It's not that young either. Vader called a ~60 year old Obi-wan "old man" in ANH. It could have been trash talk, but it would have been utterly pointless and stupid for Vader to say that if there wasn't any truth to it.

Well, what about Pellaeon? He was at least 80 by NJO, and yet he was still fairly healthy and able to lead the Imperial Remnant.
