Just what was Kenobi's Mission to be in ANH?

Was Alderaan armed at anytime during the Clone Wars? Some of the EU makes it sound like it was, some (including the RotS novelization)make it sound like it wasn't.

Yeah, they were. But the wars disgusted them and after it ended, they loaded alot of their weapons and war machines onto like one or two frigates and programmed the computer(s) to make random hyperspace jumps. It/they did until sometime in the post-ROTJ era, when it/they were found.

Okay, I wasn't sure. In the RotS novelization, Bail said Alderaan was defensless.

I wonder. It is also possible that Bail was trying to get Luke as well? By sending Leia to deliver the message, maybe he was trying to drop the hint that maybe it was time to bring along her brother as well.

That's a interesting idea. It does make sense, if Bail suspected that Palpatine was about to dissolve the Senate, he might have wanted Kenobi to come out of hiding and show the twins the truth.

That's a interesting idea. It does make sense, if Bail suspected that Palpatine was about to dissolve the Senate, he might have wanted Kenobi to come out of hiding and show the twins the truth.

The meeting would have been funny if the two of them hadn't been killed. Can you imagine?

BAIL: Greetings, General Kenobi. In the last 20 years, I have been rigorously training Leia, readying her for her eventual destiny as the leader of the Rebellion which will topple this decaying edifice of corruption we call the Empire. I thought it was post-Hoth, they were recovered and had antique ground weapons used to replace the losses suffered in the evacuation...Wedge mentions it in The Bacta War, but I don't have that book any more, so I can't find exactly when it was recovered.

They used the weapons to replace the things lost at Derra IV .

Vader and Palpatine might have gotten really suspicious if too Force Strong presences appeared on the planet that was a major supporter of the Rebellion. And the famous General Kenobi suddenly appeared on Alderaan as well.
