I seem to remember this Boykin person claiming to have intelligence reports of Satan flying in the sky of Afghanistan or Iraq.

She Said: ok
I Said: They Just droped the bar for "Public Use" and "Just compensation" in Amendment 5 and in doing os trampled on the 9th and 10th Amendments. So We've lost a full 3rd of Locke (Live Liberty and Property)
She Said: ah
I Said: Yeah
I Said: Hence Liberty is at stake if the Government can take what you own to give it to someone else without your consent or compensation

Since I live in Kansas, I've had the misfortunate of hearing or reading a hell of a lot of stupid fundie quotes. Half of them come from Connie Morris, a conservative (although I think the term "reactionary" better suits her) member of the KS Board of Education and one of the ringleaders of the infamous evolution hearings back in May. She's provided wisdom such as:

"I can only conclude that (scientists) don't have evidence (for evolution)."

"I hope the people of Kansas can walk away (from the hearings) with an extraordinarily magnificent, eye-opening experience as to the holes in the theory of evolution."

And my personal favorite:

"It is our goal to write the standards in such a way that clearly gives educators the right AND responsibility to present the criticism of Darwinism alongside the age-old fairy tale of evolution."

There was a discussion in N&P on that topic a few weeks ago. Suffice it to say, news of evolution vs. creationism in Kansas is par for the course, and hasn't turned a head in surprise in years.

Another example of why my home state leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

That's the worst I've heard in a good, long while. Almost as bad as the Scientologist who had 'proof' of my thetan possession level I met on the street, or that fundie who has been hounding me for some time. Owwww, the idiocy. It hurts!

Damn, my own personal experiences can't match some of this shit, but I'll toss 'em out there. Overheard a conversation between a couple moms I know who are both fundies: "I don't know why I keep getting pregnant, but as long as God keeps sending me children, I'll keep having them." She has 8 kids with another on the way. This woman shags more than Austin Powers. Then there's the conversation (if you can call it that) that I had with a fundie on my street, after inadvertantly saying I was Atheist: Her-"You're going to Hell!" Me-"I don't believe in Hell, Heaven, God, Satan or any other part of your mythology." Her-"Believe in God or you're going to Hell." Me-*repeat above* Her-"Believe in God or you're going to hell!" Me- :banghead: *walk away*
