I got me a new cd player; Panasonic Shockwave SL-SW960V

Post by Soontir C'boath »

This was originally going to be posted in the venting thread but I thought it'd fit better here..

I am listening to my music with a cd player now than using the computer's system due to two reasons. The Koss headphones are getting to be a real doozy to wear and also my family always tell me to turn it down when I put it through the subwoofers which sucks anyway as it emits white noise.

I should have as always check the reviews of cd players first then decide to buy it but oh well, I'm stuck with it. :banghead:
I bought a Panasonic Shockwave SL-SW960V. Everything's great on it including the FM/AM radio except for a few reasons.
  1. As said by a reviewer, the maximum volume on this thing is crap. It should be turned up by five-ten more points to get it good. Rock/Metal music can be heard pretty well but when listening to pianissimo music in a train, you can forget about it.
  2. It doesn't use a dialer for volume control too.
  3. It is a bit bulkier than a normal cd player would be and it weighs a bit too much for my taste which sucks as it won't fit into my jacket/pants pocket.
Headphones did matter though, I had use the Panasonic headphones that came with it which was utter garbage but starting today, I am using Sennheiser MX500 earbuds. Which is a whole lot better.
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."
