So after rewatching the Order 66 scene yet again (it must be like the 25th time), I noticed that Master Allie's speeder bike is actually the same model (or one very similar to it) to the speeder bikes that the Imperial scout troopers used on Endor, just with a different paint job.

I don't know if this deserved its own thread, but hey, I thought it was cool. On a side note, does anyone know what planet she was on? Is it Mygeeto or Boz Pity or something else? I think the Hyperspace webstrip Reversal of Fortune mentions the planet name briefly.

And on ANOTHER side note, how do the scout troopers have any peripheral vision with those blinders they have on? Do they have some sort of extra imaging sensors in their helmet? Luke did mention in ANH that he couldn't see anything out of those stormtrooper helmets.

Yeah, it's an Aratech 74-Z from RotJ. They're carried on LAATs, we've known this since the AotC:ICS, so it was nice to see in RotS. Ki-Adi-Mundi is on Mygeeto. Stass Allie was on Saleucami (sp?!).

Scout trooper armor incorporates a macrobinocular viewplate and sensor array that gives a 180-degree field of vision (SW Databank).

Score one for the EU fixing the frankly idiotic ideas of the guy who designed it:

Designer Nilo Rodis-Jamero likened the scout troopers to kamikaze pilots who need only to see what's directly in front of them. This was part of the inspiration for the viewplate shroud on their helmets, which resemble the blinders worn by racehorses.

Also from the databank. Why the hell would a scout want to see only what's in front of him? Kamikaze pilots ...

Luke did mention in ANH that he couldn't see anything out of those stormtrooper helmets.

Because he wasn't used to the imaging system. Not to mention for someone who apparently "can't see a thing" his aim was just fine.

But hey, it beats me too how a 19 year old farmboy with no actual combat training has far superior aim to battle hardened Imperial troops.

Well I guess we can just attribute this to his natural talents with the Force and from shooting womp rats back home.

There was a thread about Scout Trooper helmets a while ago, and we came to the conclusion that the wearer has displays inside his eyepieces that give him a view of information composited from sensors located on various points on his helmet.
It's a stretch to cover up the fact that it's a silly (albeit cool and unique looking) design.

I'd also like to point out that the idea of 'kamikaze pilots needing only to look ahead' is stupid in itself. For one thing, Scout Troopers do not kamikaze their bikes into things.
For another thing, even if they did, you'd need excellent spatial awareness and peripheral vision to effectively collide into evasive targets!
