Bullshit. They count as canon insofar as we can interpret their representation of the Star Wars universe into a normal mode. Obviously, we wouldn't go around spouting that Blaster Rifles do 2-20 damage, or similar crap because that's a game mechanic. We can say since that X appeared in Y game, it doesn't conflict with any of the rest of the Star Wars universe, and has an explanation, it's "real" as far as Star Wars is confirmed. Find me a quote, or article, or any other piece of official literature which states that the Valley of the Jedi or genetically engineering Midichlorians won't work and I'll concede the point. The games are made by Lucasarts, which is a division of Lucasfilm Limited, so they're official and canon, albeit low canon. If a book contradicts them, the book wins, natually. Just as the movies/direct novelizations thereof beat out the books in a dispute of canon.

yes they are as far as the non gamemechanic elements go (for example the characters, places and events of KOTOR games are canon but not the piss poor performance of the blasters in those games).Trooper TK12746 wrote:Games are not canon or even quasi-canon.
I may be an idiot, but I'm a tolerated idiot

Since they demonstrate control over the Force, what's the difference between being a Force user and a conduit of Palpatine's will? Does being a conduit mean you can somehow use the Force without those sufficient quantities of midichlorians? Or are you saying that whatever the conduits do, it's actually Palpatine doing it from a (very huge) distance?Trooper TK12746 wrote:You need sufficient quantities of midichlorians to become a force user, not just have midichlorians.
In Dark Empire, the EMpire made two of his dark Jedi extensions of his will. He made them conduits for his power, he didn't give them power of their own.

He can actively use someone to do his will, without their consent or even knowledge. He doesn't give people Force sensitivity, he makes them an extension of himself and acts through them. When he withdraws his control, they don't retain Force abilities.

Edit: Damnit! Well, not much reason responding to that if he's been banned...
Do the conduits retain some of their own free will? Because it appears as the two would-be Dark Jedi had some slight argument how they would go about the kidnapping of Jacen and Jaina. That would seem unlikely to happen if they were directly controlled by Palpatine (well, unless he's schizophrenic, I guess).
He does something to them that creates a large tremor in the Force, large enough for Luke to sense. The Emperor refers to them as being Dark Jedi, and one of them claims to be more Jedi than Kam Sosular will ever be (which was obviously bullshit). If they were indeed just an extension of Palpatine himself, shouldn't they have been able to use some of his powers instead of just doing a Vader (I dug up the last comic; one of them deflected a blaster bolt with his hand; he did not Force-choke anyone) and then getting killed like a weak Force user?Vicious wrote:He can actively use someone to do his will, without their consent or even knowledge.
