too many processes running help!

Post by thecreech »

On Certain games that i try to play i will get kicked out of my games sometime because my PC is running to many processes. IS there anyway to find out what the processes do because i just don't want to start shutting them down without knowing what they are. Is there someing i an run to have windows tell me what they do?

This site may be helpful.

Another good idea would be typing the name of a particular process into google and checking to see if anything dubious comes up.

You can also run a Hijackthis scan and post the log in the proper forum.

You should be able to figure out what processes are running at boot up too. go under run: msconfig.exe to find out which ones you have running at startup and kill the ones you know you absolutely don't need. This will take care of alot of the problems.
