Rome Total Realism Problem
Alright. I'm trying to play Rome with the Total realism mod on it. I had vanilla R:tW on, then I put 1.2 on. After that I followed their instructions and put 5.2, then 5.3, then 5.4, then 5.4.1 on. But every time I try to start the Provincial Campaign, the system crashes during the boot up for starting the game. Why is it doing this. I have a backup of the Data file that I have used for fresh starts repeatedly, but it still won't work even after having done all this.

Actually I did, and despised it if we are thinking of the same version. Archers were useless, defense ratings had turned all the battles from a careful strategy game to a giant slugging match that would take forever and a day, phalanxs were overly powerful, and playing the Romans even on Medium difficulty was damn near fucking impossible.Ace Pace wrote:No clue, but have you thought of trying SPQR 3.0 for 1.2?
It rocks.

Are we talking about the same version of SPQR? I'm running a H\H game with Julii(they rule) and while its a complex strategic situation, its no where near impossible, and phalnexes suck compared to any Roman army, ever heard of Javalins?
Archers, well, use archers on non-armoured targets, and javalins on armoured. Javalins cut straight though armour, deadly on anything, while archers pepper. I've destroyed entire units morale from archer sniping, while leaving stuff like Swordsman, phlanexes and Elepants to skirmishers.

Did you delete the map file before executing the game?Captain Cyran wrote:Alright. I'm trying to play Rome with the Total realism mod on it. I had vanilla R:tW on, then I put 1.2 on.
