It's not that nobody cares, but that all but the most idiotic people have finally accepted that it's a horrendously one-sided battle. Alyeska, TheDarkling, guys like that still go after what they see as exaggerations on the SW side, but nobody seriously believes any more that a GCS could take on an ISD and survive, much less win.

Not only they believe that a Sovvie could take on an SSD and win easilly but the Defiant would be untouchable. Its not that they just throw a few quick lines like "THE BORG 0WN J00 ASS" but they actually try to rationally explain why.

Just beause they make the claim does not make them stupid. Not everyone has the same access to information that we do. If this person does not know the rules of canon and is comparing TNG and DS9 TM to the X-Wing games, the result will be very obvious.

Maybe, maybe not. If all you have is a surface glance of the movies you will see that the casual viewer might see the resemblence between the movies and the games. The movies don't SHOW the highest speeds, they showed point blank ranges in ROTJ. The casual viewer might not be able to know the difference and when a game reinforces what they thought they saw, they make a conclussion.

No idea where they got the 30,000 number, but technically they are correct on the torpedo issue. ST uses Isoton (not the real number value, but rather a scifi value of unknown size) to rate torpedoes.

Maybe, but if the games have information similar to what they percieve from the movies, they will use the games for more detail. I am not saying that people who ignore information once given are smart, I am saying that some people use what information they have to come to a conclussion. Not everyone basing their information off a game is an idiot.

If that's the case then they're mearly ignorant. If they still believe it with canon information then they're idiots. Either way it's a flawed method of getting to the truth and they should realize that.
