Well, my connection usually doesn't fare that well in MP games (250 ping is average) but on a good server I get 80-120, very playable. And what graphics card are you using, btw?

Ouch. :) Um, yeah, you'll want to get a much better one. And about a gig of RAM. And a decent CPU. Maybe I recommend a 6600GT? Its the one I use, and it runs the game quite well at medium settings. Plus it's cheap, with the PCI-Express version going for around 190 bucks.

Maybe I'm better just saying what my whole system is.

AMD 2000 (not the fastest on the block I know, but it works pretty well with everything I have right now)
512mb RAM

BF2 runs fine for me with a AMD 2600+ Barton, but I would get a 3200. And get at least another 512mb of RAM, since this thing is extremely RAM intensive.
