Cheradenine Zakalwe vs Jango Fett vs Samus Aran

Post by The Nomad »

Zakalwe from Culture's Use of Weapons with his plasma rifle and Culture's combat suit. No support from a drone, knife-missile or orbiting ship.

Jango Fett with all the toys he's been seen to posess in AOTC. No help from Boba or the Slave I.

Samus Aran from Metroid with all her armours, weapons and items ( with a base of 20 standard missiles, calculate her total ammunition supply ). No help from her raider.

Location : the arena on Geonosis, without interventions.

Fight to the death.

Culture's combat suits are powered armours ( whith much more strenght than 4 mens ), with antigrav, sensors, effectors, smart CPU...
And they are efficient against anything but heavy artillery.

The Varia Suit (from Super Metroid) causes Samus to walk in LAVA without taking any damage, or being impeded in any way.

Do you know what heavy artillery is in the Cultureverse ? Well, I have a little idea... to give you an idea, any Culture ship over 300 m can vaporize a planet without its main weaponry, and their common worldship ( General System Vehicle ) is 80 km in lenght. Gives you an idea of the power they posess, doesn't it ? ( although their FTL is only high warp-level )

And does everyone know what an effector is ? No need to explain :D ?
If I were Zakalwe, I'd use it to change Samus into my personnal love slave, and just cook Jango's brain...

The exact quote being:

The suit was vulnerable to a shortish list of comparatively heavy battlefield weaponry, and not much else.

Not that we really now what kind of weaponry they're speaking about. Considering the planet he was on at the time it's atleast more advanced then what we have on modern Earth, but by an unknown amount.

The plasma gun is capable of shattering and partially vapourising a fifteen metre cube of ice.

The gun rammed against his shoulder, and a blinding flash of light threw his shadow behind him. The sound was like a grenade going off. A pencil-thin white line seared the length of the smallbay and joined the gun to the fifteen metre cube of ice, which shattered into a million fragments in a floor-thumping detonation of light and steam and a furiously blossoming cloud of black vapour.

Sma stood, her hands clasped behind her back, and watched debris fountain fifty meters to the top of the bay, where it ricocheted of the roof. More black shrapnel flew the same distance to crash into the bay's side walls... and tumbling, glittering black shards slithered across the floor towards them. Most skidded to a stop on the ridged surface of the bay, though a few small pieces - blown a long way through the air before thumping into the deck - did actually slide past the two humans and the watching drone, and clunk into the rear wall of the bay.

The most useful thing in the suit would still be the effector, which is smart enough to take control of an aircraft and flying it by itself. The person wearing the suit just has to command it. It might be able to fry the other combatants weaponry or disable their suits. I don't know what kind of defences the others have against that kind of stuff.

Zakalwe uses an Idiran plasma rifle. It's seven hundred years old at the tie of Use of Weapons.
He wins. easily. He's the most cunning bastard hat ever lived. At one point he takes out a knife missile, by himself.

A better fight would be just Jango Fett and Samus Aran one on one. I really can't think of anyone off-hand who fits into that niche, except maybe the Predator.

Heh. Using the same rules as this thread, Samus would have the hyper beam. One hit from that would kill Jango or a Yautja.

Naah. That rifle is obsolete. As stated in the book, they've got handguns that are more powerful :)

I don't recall it being a Idiran plasma rifle though. He had problems lifting an Idiran hand cannon, I don't think he'd be able to lift an Idiran rifle.

Sorry, not familiar with the latest incarnations of Samus, my mental picture is still that of the old NES version for the most part.
