Post by Ubiquitous »

Just been offered this:

LCD= Acer 15"/ Tft/ black
PROCESSOR=AMD SEMPRON 2800 RETAIL
RAM=256/400 ddr
HARD DRIVE= 80/7200GB HDD
DVD WRITER= LITEON 16X+/8X-DL
& MODEM+ MOUSE+ KEY BOARD
10 months used(without any damage)
price= £320

It has an AGP slot so I would be able to slot in a new card and hopefully ram as well. This is the MB:

I want to be able to play games on it as currently my main system is a laptop with a P4 2.53 with 512 RAM, 40 GB HDD and 64 MB GF4 MX.

I forgot to include that it comes with XP Pro and Office - would that make any difference?

Either way I went ahead and offered £250. Waiting for his response.

If its a full small business verison of office then yes, the software is almost worth(sorta) $200 on its own(Errr 140ish pounds damn exchange rate)

Put it this way, Office and XP would put you back the 250 pounds.

I've not used Acer LCD so I can't comment, because 70% of the LCD's out there are not worth a dime to me if I get a head-ache after five minutes of looking at the thing.(Which depending on response time, is alot)

IE a $200 LCD which makes your eyes bleed after a few hours of using it is not worth $200, its not worth $5.

However a 210$ LCD that does not do the afformentioned eyebleeding is of course worth the 210$.

Yes, but that's included in the price, so it's most definitely NOT a ripoff by the pricing you ran through. :)

I sell the Acer LCDs at work, and barring some unusual physiology, they should be fine. They're good, inexpensive displays, and I've not had one returned yet, barring one that was dropped.
