IMHO, Corran does NOT belong here. He annoyed the HELL out of me in "I, Jedi" :x . I also hate the X-wing novels, based on a DOS game is not a good idea. But again, that's just my HO.

Go Janson!

I'm currently reading Starfighters of Adumar (for the umpteempth time) amd i am still laughing at his humor:

I also do NOT like Corran. I always thought that I was a minority of one on that point. What I can't figure out is why they didn't just use Kyle Katarn and make him fly an X-Wing. In any case, I REALLY did not like I, Jedi, but all my friends did, so I really don't know about that book. The X-Wing books are pretty good, so long as they keep the character count down. Sometimes, at the end of the book, you can't even remember what SPECIES some character is. One character in Bacta War had exactly two lines of dialogue in the entire book. That was why Starfighters of Adumar was so much better than most of the others--it eliminated all but four of the pilots (admittedly in a cheesy way), so you could bond more with them and get to know them better. Only then did it add other characters, like Iella Wessiri, to the mix.

Really? Well he's still an EU character, so quit whining and vote for someone else.

BTW, where's Ysanne Isard? She's one of my favorite Imperial characters.

Another classic Wes Line

Wedge snorted "Lets just say I was intrigued by the mystery."
Wes: "Mystery? I'll give you a mystery. I'll spend tommorrow with my feet and forhead painted red and never tell why. Is that mysterious enough?

Pellaeon

Thank God that Mara Jade didn't win. She's funny, and a bitter and acid filled foil to Luke, but not better than Pellaeon. Or maybe that's just the Army brat in me coming through. Gotta go with the professional officers.

:P

Plus if Mara Jade had won, well, then we'd know that nothing but fanboys made up this list. And that would just make me sad.

I voted for the Last one....i like three of them..Thrawn, Palleon, and Karde.

I wouldn't mind ummm the robot that sticked with Lando in that huge 500 page book dedicated to him..with three stories...i forgot..oh wait i remember... BLUE MAX!!!! That droid was cool....One big droid on the outside and a small one encase in it.

Wes would have gotten my vote had he been up there without him Thrawn gets it.

Anyone else think that Wes should have been included in the 4 first X-wing books? And that it would greatly improve said books?

No, the first four books had too many characters as it was. Their problem was that they were all too similar and difficult to tell apart. That has been getting better, since then.

Jacen Solo.

He was kind of a good character, and I liked the message that he promoted indirectly.

Actually, I just read an interview with that Stover (I think that's his name), who's writing traitor. I liked some of his earlier work, and his style is reminiscent of my own. I'm hoping he'll turn Jacen around in that book, and from the interview, I think I have a right to be optimistic about that. Those are all character choices that are controversial, but I posted them because I like them or don't like them, and I thought we could have a good discussion about it. What do you like about Jacen? He just kind of strikes me as a wuss, from what I've read of him. He doesn't seem decisive like his brother or sister, and he doesn't have their fire. I don't see it.

BTW, what did all of you guys think of Piggy and Ghent and Anakin? Why did all of you like or dislike them?

my Fav Star Wars EU characters are Tycho Culchu and Corran Horn. Corran Horn has all the experience needed to be a great fighter. He has hunting skills, pilot skills, Jedi Powers and can get into criminals thoughts and seek them out. Tycho just has a cool Star Wars name and has a great background story.

And then there's Janson's kind, delicate way of pointing out a mistake:

"You can't just stay here and avoid it." Janson said.
Wedge looked at the Wraith's XO. "Come again?"
"You can't just hang around here, Commander. You have to get to the Falsehood and face your mistake."
"What mistake is that?"
Janson grinned. "Well, of course, you're taking Han Solo's place in piloting the Falsehood because he really can't be relinquishing command of the fleet for joyrides."
"Correct. No mistake I can see so far. I have more experience with Corellian freighters than anyone on Mon Remonda, excepting Han Solo."
"And you asked him if Chewbacca would be interested in coming along as copilot and mechanic. He has all that experience keeping disintigrating junt together as it flies."
"Correct so far."
"And the general said, sure, Chewie would be happy to come along."
"You're three for three."
"Wedge, you don't speak Wookiee."
"I-oh Sithspit."
...............................
"You haven't mantinoed this to the pilots?"
"Well, yes, I sort of blurted it out when it ocurred to me."
"And what did they do?
"They put down bets on what you'd do. So then I had to go to all the other pilots so they could get their own bets down."
"Who won?"
"Tyria Sarkin. She said you'd say 'Sithspit'."

:D  I love Janson. Ton Phanan, too.
