Yes. Rand did not know he did it, it happened randomly, so if Rand could do this again, Vlad would very well be dead. And as Rand is ta'veren moreover, that tends to bend a few things in his favor.

Again, doesn't matter. Balefire is (once again) an ability, not a spell. Spells involve invocations, balefire requires wrapping a few threads of fire and spirit and air (IIRC) together in instants to create. And Shielding, Gentling and Stilling are the only ways to cut him off from the Source, so you cannot *poof* the balefire.

Imperial Sorcery, the kind Spellbreaker usually blocks, is used the exact same way as the Source is. No invocations, no material components, etc.

Asha'man and Aes Sedai neutralize weaves all the time without cutting the other channeler off from the Source.

But they have to create their own weaves to do it. So, SPellbreaker will not work against it.

Balefire = the one source

the one source is NOT magic and their is no "spell"

therefore a spell used to block magic = useless against it.

This is a thing in literature that pretty much violates so many little laws, and heck it's result is nasty...you're erased from existence. Not just dead, not just hurt...erased and all your deeds are erased(Book 5 ending)

Honestly it is up there with being THE pre-dominant weapon of doom.

Until the point where you were erased. But the original wuestion was between the weapons, not the wielders.
