It would appear that the open-backed walker is used for transport.

The unique clone trooper identification number is embedded in each clone's DNA. The clones themselves have no physical markings indicating their unique identities. A special scanner incorporated into the clone trooper helmet identifies the trooper and this info is displayed on a tiny LED viewscreen incorporated in the back of the helmet. The information displayed on the helmet can also be transmitted to a central location so that combat commanders can "track" a battle.
Following the rise of the Empire, the military cloning program expanded to include new clone hosts. By the time of the Empire consolidated its power by dissolving the Senate, the ranks of the Imperial stormtroopers would include cloned infantry from multiple sources as well as birth-born conscripts and recruits from various worlds.
They´re in that shot of the dead troops in the Saleucami section. Far left.I'd like to know about those birds feeding off the clonetrooper bodies on Saleucami... No. Seriously.
I think those are the artillery transports/carriers mentioned in several Mygeeto related articles.and there's no entry about the damn unidentified tank on Mygeeto
That's the impression I got too. I have to say that I'm disappointed with the databank's handling of a potentially awesome vehicle. Artillery transport? They make it sound like that thing's just a mobile platform for a cannon that's useless in close combat.VT-16 wrote:I think those are the artillery transports/carriers mentioned in several Mygeeto related articles.
Impression or not, it's not explicit, thankfully, and it's a completely stupid idea, as you said. They're obviously tanks used for direct combat.Jim Raynor wrote:

Who cares about those blue worm things?
the AT-OT is just a retarded design. Even worse than the AT-RT and as bad as the TIE crawler imoFTeik wrote:Am i the only one, who thinks the AT-OT to be a wasted design?
Not that i complain about a walker with eight legs, but still ...
34 clone-troopers? What kind of military unit is this? It is vulnerable from above, AT-ATs are already in existance ...
"Kway teow" is unmistakably the name of flat Chinese noodles, made from a flat sheet of batter that is cut into strips.Though Commerce Guild Presidente Shu Mai called Castell the planet of her birth, her home was Felucia, site of a sprawling compound outside the city of Kway Teow that served as a remote office and private retreat.
No it isn't. The AT-RT makes little sense since it's basically a mechanized horse (that's the image I got of those clones riding them), and the TIE Crawler is competely retarded since it makes no sense to use the chassis for a tank, at all. The AT-OT however can be seen to resemble a WW2 open-top half-track or truck. It's almost certainly much cheaper than an AT-TE, and can hold more men.wautd wrote:

cheaper than an AT-TE... why? It certainly looks more massive. And what's the supposed speed of that thing? Looked awfully slow for a transportVympel wrote:No it isn't. Why? Because it's a blatant Lucasfilm 'catch' of that problem, and doesn't adress arguments of that nature that were made pre-RotS?weemadando wrote:Just the thing to beat the "but they wear white armour"/"there's no variety" idiots around the head with.
Well gee, that supply truck looks more massive than that hummer. IT must be more expensive!cheaper than an AT-TE... why? It certainly looks more massive. And what's the supposed speed of that thing? Looked awfully slow for a transport
Exactly, which is what is said in its article.Instead they would be used behind friendly lines.
