There are already some entertaining reviews at Amazon of his just-published book.

According to one of those reviews, the following line is from Rick Santorum: "The notion that college education is a cost-effective way to help poor, low-skill, unmarried mothers with high school diplomas or GEDs move up the economic ladder is just wrong."

If that's true, he's truly plumbing new depths of idiocy. His argument seems to be that the only acceptable way for single mothers to move up the economic ladder is to marry someone. And I guess those mothers who can't find someone to marry just deserve misery.

There are some excerpts from this waste of paper here (under the July 5th entry), including that business about poor single mothers and how college may not be the best choice for them.

He's also ranting again public education, insisting that abortion is worse than slavery in the US, and makes yet another argument why mothers should stay at home and not work.

I feel so honored to have this man as a State Senator.

Amazon's reviews for this are fun to read. I especially like this one because the sarcasm carries deeper than all the one-star reviews:

What a hoot. I haven't read this kind of satire in a long time. The Simpsons writers should hire this guy. He really has nailed the ultra conservative, over the top exagerrated Christian bigot type.
I always knew Santorum was an asshole, but the "dead fetus cuddling" and "slavery > abortion" diatribes I've read have convinced me he's way beyond asshole and really bizzare.

He actually brought home a dead fetus that his wife had given birth to. He brought the fetus to his house and showed it to his other children.

Story here from the Washington Post:
Upon their son's death, Rick and Karen Santorum opted not to bring his body to a funeral home. Instead, they bundled him in a blanket and drove him to Karen's parents' home in Pittsburgh. There, they spent several hours kissing and cuddling Gabriel with his three siblings, ages 6, 4 and 1 1/2. They took photos, sang lullabies in his ear and held a private Mass.
There is no way in hell I would show my young children, ANY young children a dead fetus in this way.

Santorum belongs in a sanitarium and yet he's running around in the Senate chambers instead.
