I think this has jackshit to do with the Olympics or the G8, other than people who are celebrating (Olympics) tend to have their guard down, and so much security was drawn to G8 that it left an opportunity in London..

It's the fucking religious nutjobs again.

The world has got to come up with an effective strategy to deal with people who think blowing other people up is somehow acceptable.

As a Londoner, my first thought was 'Wow, the French really took the Olympic bid seriously'.

My second thought was that 6 weeks ago I was working in Aldgate.

Please don't overreact when people make jokes about this, it is the London way. Better to laugh than to cry.

As an aside, I take it these weren't suicide bombers.

I think its the G8, the equivalent of bombing the office building when you go out of town. A warning of "you aren't safe".

On the serious side - BBC World seems to have gone all Fox News... AQ this, AQ that and some seriously nasty footage (including looping of "live footage").

Did anyone else see the really badly burned guy receving CPR as he was taken from the ambulance at Royal London - Sarah didn't respond too well to that.

I'm not sure about this being AQ - seems a bit too "tame" for them, lack of utter destruction, more precision, designed to cripple the city, not to blow it wide open. Though, the lack of other real suspects is growing shorter.
