What did Aayla do to her troops to make them unload all that ammo into her?

She must have been a shitty leader to get that kind of death by her troops.

Molyneux wrote: And YES! Kit Fisto LIVES! ...well, maybe. I was pissed when he got taken down by Palpatine, not even a line to his credit, although he did last longer than anyone other than Mace...and it did look like he took a glancing blow rather than a full-on disemboweling. (The cut was below screen level, no less!)
What the hell are you talking about? He is clearly bisected onscreen, and the novel confirms his death.
Of course, even a glancing blow from a 'saber can very easily be fatal,
And a direct blow definately. he's fucking dead. Nic Gilliard said it best on Hyperspace

"Kit Fisto dies like a bitch"

I'm getting sick of all this shit - Aalya, Quinlan, Kit... These guys are chumps and die for it. It doesn't matter how much you like it, or how retarded Dark Horse is - they are fucking DEAD.

You're kidding, right? Gillard actually said that? Frankly, I can't believe he admitted it. The deaths of those three Jedi Masters is one of the most frustrating things about that scene. Especially how Saessee Tinn and Agen Kolar went down to blows that they should've seen coming a fucking mile away.

"Yeah, they'll die like bitches, it'll be awesome!"

Stupid ...

The script has Quinlan Vos getting his Juggernaut blown up by another Juggernaut- I wish that had been in there. I won't agree with the "die for being chumps" thing though. It's pretty hard to go out gloriously when your own men shoot you in the back. Fisto at least swung his sabre a few times ...

At the time, it was a taunt to motivate the actor. Originally it was a much larger fight scene, with Anakin watching all along while Palpatine used Anikan's lightsabre against them, recall?

Frankly, I still think the way it went down in the novel was the best. Palpatine had such better lines.

"You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this..."

And its in the Dark Horse comic of the movie. however, DHC has also said they are doing a Vos storyline set congruent and slightly after ROTS. $5 says they have him live now.

They had a side story of Han Solo(in I believe a SW: Republic or some Jedi Tales book) as a kid meeting Quinlan Vos after the Clone Wars....so they had this planned well before RoTS.

Republic #81-83, the story arc in question, is a flashback to the battles on Kashyyyk taking place during RotS. Either he'll die at the end of it, as in the graphic novel but with more closure, or he'll be revealed as having survived.

Personally, the only character I'd be pleased about surviving is Vos. His creators, the author and artist who do almost all of the Vos stories, weren't even notified of his death (IIRC) until the last minute. It's a shame for them to have their character killed off like that, and to cut short such a rich story arc.

Of course, that's kind of the whole point of having the jedi cut down in their prime, but still. It's Quin. :P

My hope is that the Republic #81-83 arc will give closure to the Vos character, and show him killed off on Kashyyyk at the very end. On his Star Wars blog at the official site, Leland Chee confirmed that Quinlan Vos is among the casualties of Order 66.

BS, it was announced over a year and a half ago that there would be a special EU character in the films, and up until the final cut he was in there.

The shame will be if they squander this oppertunity. He's dead. G level canon, confirmed by Chee. Of course, so was Sora Bulq. If they bring him back again for personal reasons, they not only continue to shit all over the movies, but miss out on an amazing character event.

There is nothing that says he dies out right. that he is dead yes, not that it was instant and painless. Infact, victems of explosions tend to have drawn out painful deaths, as they die from burns and bleeding out. They can have him get shot early in the first one, and have the rest of the series him reflecting on his choices in the 10 minutes or so it takes for him to subcome to his wounds. Think something like the SG1 where Daniel's wife dies, or the Family Guy where Brian uses the VR helmets to see what life with that woman could have been. Its a setup that lets them do wonderful things with the chaqracters final moments.

But of course I fully expect Quin to live.

probaly she just the opposite, in in the ROTS novelization Obi-Wan get even more of an overkill (though getting blasted by heavy anti-armor gun could count as overkill.

remember that the clones did not shoot the jedi due hate of, they were following orders, so the overkill that hit Aayla would be to make sure she's dead (that Padawan played by George lucas' son got the same treatment (while Bail Organa was watching))
I may be an idiot, but I'm a tolerated idiot

Clone Troopers are indoctrinated to respect the power of the Force. That's probably the reason why they blast Jedi with more firepower than is necessary.. just to be sure. Prudent decision, in my opinion, considering the clones have witnessed how handily Jedi deal with ranks of battle droids.
Blaster power packs are cheap, after all. Better to make sure the Jedi is staying down, because if one of them gets up again, it might be a smidge inconvenient for your squad to put it mildly.

Whether or not it's "overkill", Bly's experiences with Aayla probably led him to respect a Jedi's abilities more than most, which goes a long way to explaining why he ordered the barrage.
