Which is ironic, considering HK is completely EU...
Actually, I was refering to those people who say that Fett must suck because the EU makes him out to be uber (as Cykeisme points out.) I could have worded it better I suppose.

Do we have any solid info on HK? I've played both KOTOR games, and I can't remember much about his capabilities outside of the game mechanics.

I admit that the EU wankage has turned me into a bitter old Fett hater, though I'd be willing to give the Fetts more of a chance if there was a happy medium somewhere between a lazy snitch who got offed by a Three Stooges gag and an invincible rocket-ninja.

To give a fairer assessment, I'd say that the two are pretty evenly matched...it would all come down to planning, surprise, and a whole lot of luck. Flip a coin

If you were a lone bounty hunter in the middle of the desert, wouldn't you be a bit suspicious if a protocol droid, seemingly for no reason, approached your castle? Better to blast first and search the smoking wreckage for weapons later.
Except that protocol droids or droids in general seem to be the 'messengers' of the SW universe. Case in point. 3PO and Artoo heading to Jabba's.
No wait, I misread the scenario. I thought he was alone, but if he is accompanying Jabba at his court, there will probably be some stupid person who would let HK in. Especially since those guards let a bounty hunter with a frickin' thermal detonator in...

Query: Why would such a crudely armored meatbag think that it can challenge me, Master?

We know he can kill Jedi, although I get the impression that he did that more through fighting dirty and exploiting specific weaknesses than being generally uber (his advice on the matter includes such things as "use sonic weapons, since sabres can't block them" - although in KotOR they do anyway - grenades, mines, massed firepower, targetting those close to Jedi, etc). He is also a very effective assassination droid (examples already mentioned), but we have no real non-game-mechanics information on his specific capabilities.

That 120 km statemetn has to be BS. Do you have any idea how big a planet would have to be for that not to be over the horizon and impossible to hit? It would have a planetary radius of 7.2 million kilometers!

That's true, but of course, HK never says he could do such a thing. "Love is blah blah blah" is obviously just a typification of what HK enjoys, ie exotic and entertaining methods of inflicting pain and death on meatbags.

Damn HK wankers.

Also, if HK is still around by the time Boba Fett comes into his own, well, HK's gonna have millennia of experience in causing that pain and death in meatbags, although he certainly doesn't mind torturing anything, organic or technalogical

If you stand on sea level maybe. Otherwise I find that it would be enough with an altitude of 1130 m, or a small mountain.
Star Trek vs. Star Wars, Extralife style.

Does the quote specify he had to be on a planet? Isn't it possible he could be say, attached to the side of a ship shooting at some one in a spacesuit 120 km away?

As a fellow bitter old Fett hater, I'm going to have to use that one in the future.
