Best and Worst 007 Movie Ever

Post by Master of Ossus »

Having seen the latest Bond film, "Die Another Day," I was wondering what everyone's opinions are on the best and worst Bond films ever. I think that the best films, in order, are: "Thunderball," "Goldfinger," "Moonraker" and "Goldeneye." The worst ones, IMO, are: "A View to a Kill," "Man with the Golden Gun," and "You Only Live Twice." What do you guys think? Which are the best and worst movies?

I would put Goldeneye, Goldfinger, and License to Kill (personal fave of mine) at the top in no particular order. Tommorow Never Dies (HATE HATE HATED this one) and Octopussy at the bottom.

I have to say my favorite is Goldfinger with Golden Eye bringing up a close second.

The worst in my opinion was the You only live twice

My 3 favoriates had to be Thunderball, Goldfinger, and Moonraker.

The bottom three would be Tommorow Never Dies (too much action, not enough character), The Living Daylights (Timothy Dalton was too boring of a Bond, but there were some good scenes), and Octopussy.

Moonracker, Goldfinger, Octopussy, and Goldeneye were my favorites. I really like the Roger Moore and Pierce Bronson ones. The worst ones were the two with Timithy Dalton.

Hmm, Ive only seen parts of the older Bond movies. So far I have only seen Tomorrow Never Dies and The World is Not Enough. I loved both of them. I was going to watch Goldeneye but the damn tape I rented was fucked up. Oh well, time to catch the new one.

Best, Goldeneye
Worst, whatever that one was that had the plot to flood silicon valley

A View to a Kill? The action scenes were good, as well as the villain, but the plot was too much of a re-hash of Goldfinger, and Roger Moore was too old for the Bond character.

I don't know. Its finnal battle was on the Golden gate bridge. The action was all right but Moore never worked as a Bond for me and the dialogue made me want to drill out my own ears at times, though that may just be because of how old it is. The plot was poor at best.

All the ones not written by Ian Fleming sucked. They were too focused on action, where as the others were plot and characters.

You didn't like The World is Not Enough? I liked that one alot (not up there with Goldfinger or Goldeneye, but still good). Other than Denise Richards, the acting was good, and Robert Carlyle and Sophie Marceau did a pretty good job with the shifting villain dynamic. And that scene where 007 shot Elektra right in the face? One of the best scenes in Bond films.

The World is Not enough was just stupid. Tomorrow never dies had problems, mainly the impossibility of the Type 23 sinking and reporting its locati9on incorrectly, if they where in PRC waters there radar would have seen the coast, but the action made up for it, mostly.

Im not sure Ive ever scene a Connery film from beginning to end. And I dont remember the Moore films very much.

For me my personal favorite was the one with Michele Yeoh. Hmmm.. I like her. It had its problems, all bond films tend too but I had fun with that one.

For me: Goldeneye and Goldfinger(gotta love any gal named Pussy Galore, and a villain with the gall to go to Bond "No Mister Bond, I expect you to DIE!")

Worst: oi...quite a few...Dalton's first one...dammit can't remember...and why oh why did Grace Jones become a Bond Girl....gah my eyes!!!

Goldfinfder & Goldeneye, best. Octopussy and the World is not enough following closely behind. A worse is that movie with Dalton & that Columbian Crack deal, good action though.

Best Bond movie? Is there any doubt:

Post by Patrick Degan »

The Sean Connery films all occupy the top ranks —particularly From Russia With Love, Dr. No, and Goldfinger. They're the closest to the actual Ian Flemming novels and devolved a lot more on plot than gagetry and gimmicks.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service was a decent enough film, and George Lazenby didn't do too badly in the role for his one and only outing.

Roger Moore did better in his earlier Bond movies, before he became nothing but a walking tailor's dummy and one which wasn't ageing gracefully by the time he hit Octopussy. That film, along with Moonraker and A View To A Kill, were simply travesties.

The very idea of Timothy Dalton as Bond was off-putting. Never even bothered to see his two films, and from everything I heard, I didn't miss much.

The whole series is really just flying on fumes at this point. Once they ran out of Ian Flemming material, they've just been essentially reworking the same three plots and filling the time with ever more ridiculous gadgets. Frankly, I think its getting time to seriously consider just calling it a day on 007.

BTW, Pierce Brosnan is a better Bond at this point than Moore or Dalton, but Sean Connery could still kick his bony ass all over the screen. 8)

Goldfinger, and From Russia with Love are my favorites. I have a thing for the blond Bond girls  . The World is not enough was just plain shit. The only scene I liked in that movie was when we get to see Denise Richards in ice cold water. The scenes that i didn't like was whenever she opened her mouth to speak. Her acting just plain sucked.
