I'm hopeful about the movie, but I'm also concerned. It seems to be changing a lot of things about ST, and while I agree that that is necessary for any series that's been around half as long as Trek, there's always the concern that they could be changing the wrong things. I guess I'm worried about it in the sense that I'm worried about LotR. I hope it will be good, but it will be such an awful disappointment if it isn't. I really want to see Data and Worf and the others off in a manner befitting their characters, and I would hate it if they wound up falling down a gorge like Kirk.

I have very little expectations of this movie. As such, I am sure that it will exceed them. I hope that it will be at least have a bunch of cool action even if it doesn't have much substance. And I hope that the characters that I really like go out with dignity.

No one's DYING guys. A few are leaving the Enteprise and Picard's command, but that's it really.

Well, because A) that would have represented continuity, which is verbötten to the philosophy of Dumb and Dumber, and B) because a whole plot element involves Picard's EvilClone™ Skippy psychically seducing/raping Counsellor Troi —and even Dumb and Dumber haven't the guts to try any sort of twisted lesbian angle in BragaTrek™.

Besides which, not only did Sela not have any telepathic powers, it's more likely that after the failure of her Great Plan to conquer Vulcan with one Warbird and 2000 combat troops, that Sela the Incompetent was executed very shortly afterward. You have to wonder if she even got a trial...

They didn't have the flashing spinning ball look in Insurrection either. We also see them come from the same location that the torpedoes from Insurrection came from.

Agreed, it was just the best that they had back at the time. She didn't have to be all that good looking, just the best of them, for the trekkies to go wild. That wouldn't happen today though with T'pol and 7 running around in skin tight clothing.
