I'm sure that there would be an option to configure it yourself. There better be at any rate.

My guess is there's a file system for saviing/loading, and presumably creating icons, where you simply make images the right size and format and put them in the right folder. Something like a 32x32 .gif or such would be compatible with the display.

I can only imagine how fucking awesome this would be if it had good community support for flight sims.

I must find a price tag and get my credit card application approved.

How much would a keyboard with that many oled keys cost

Must have it

If they get it cheap enough then this is the ultimate keyboard, Z-board eat your heart out

OLED's are pretty cheap to manufacture compared to LCD, but still, something like this is going to be pricey. Figure at least $1000 at first (probably more) with volume sales maybe bringing it down to $500.

EDIT: Oh, and that is the coolest fucking thing I've ever seen. Here's hoping that someone has the brains to actually make a product out of it.

Buh... huh... geh... need... must... buhfehbwahah...

My only complaint is the enter key. Almost enough to make me not like it. Too much distance between the arrow keys and the bulk of the keys, which combined with the enter key getting in the way of right shift, fucks hell with my standard gaming keybinds.

HOLY WHAT THE BATMAN! That, that, that, that, that is just the greatest piece of technology I have seen. I must have this, I will have this, I don't care how much it costs, I'll get three jobs if I have to, but that thing is just to fucking awesome to not own. No other piece of computer related stuff has ever gotten me excited. Except this.

Oh my non-existant gods! I MUST HAVE THAT! There is nothing truly greater than that. I'm sorry, any other computer breakthru will not be able to compete with the greatness of that keyboard.

It is impressive, but I doubt its compatible with my kvm switch.

Also the changing key displays won't be much use to me, except when learning a new complex program, so I doubt I will ever buy one.

I wounder how durable it is compared to other keyboards, as I use the cheapest keyboard I can buy so I don't care when it breaks

That's just magic.

Would there be any way to make it cheaper?

If that could be modified somehow so I could replace my current laptop keyboard with one based on those technologies, that'd make typing in foreign languages so much easier....*drools*

Yes, but not tremendously so. Keep in mind that this appears to be mearly a technology demonstration and not a full fledged product (yet I hope) but cheaper OLED's might help lower the cost a bit.

Honestly though, this thing can't get that cheap. Having hundreds of programmable, independent OLED's is a neat trick, and will never be cheap. I could see something like this selling for $500 given enough volume, but lower than that seems unlikely, it's just too specialized and too complex.

Uh, you do realise it's just a 3D model and not a working keyboard don't you?

None the less, immensely cool.

Kick. Ass.

The mouse design they link to on the page is significantly less impressive, though.

The mouse design is idiotic.

Anyway, the keyboard is fucking awesome.
That would help so much with learning all the shorcuts in Max.
