Not part of the canon? Are they seriously attempting to apply Paramount's canon policy to Star Wars when SW's policy explicitly states that all the written works, unless mentioned otherwise, are lesser canon? The ICS' and other official works rank just below the movies in terms of canon.

I'd like to see their evidence that they are "grossly inconsistent" as well.

Just going there and reading some of the argument on weapon ranges made my head hurt.

it's said to be non-canon and inconsistent cause it would hurt their jackass "arguments"

I've started a thread here asking for clarification on why the ICS aren't considered canon.

It's simple

ICS etches SW's supremacy in stone

Accepting the volumes would mean that they would have to admit defeat, which they don't want

You shouldn't have said the following:
Cpl Kendall wrote:Now I understand that you want ST to win, I can accept that.
That will put them in the defensive for sure. This essentially makes the infinitesimal chance that they would budge even more microscopic.

Ahh well that doesn't really matter too much to me. You see I'm not big on VS debating. I'm in it for the military tactics and technology angle. I already believe that Wars will stomp ST and they know that I believe that, therefore I really have nothing to prove. But the Canon argument really kinda burns my ass. Lucas has it set down what he wants so who are you (they) to say otherwise, it's his universe afterall.

Shifty defense lawyers know how important it is to have evidence thrown out of court. They'll never give up the ghost on this issue, no matter how many times official statements are shoved in their faces.

True, but you'd think they'd want to move past arguing about the state of canon. It's the least interesting part of this debate by far.

Then when they start arguing about how something in SW is inferior, someone on our side brings up an item which conflicts with their little definition of what is and isn't canon, and the cycle begins anew.

Speaking of, I love their hypocrisy in denying their opponents the official canon/official policy for SW, but they feel free to violate Paramount's stand on Trek canon in using the technical manuals.

Thread locked- we all know where who stands on what, it's not really necessary to continue IMO.
